Nobuo Uematsu, musical composer famous for his work on the Final Fantasy series, is set to make an appearance at PLAY! Symphony in Toronto on Saturday, September 30th. Already gaining critical acclaim and standing ovations all around the United States and Europe, PLAY! Symphony's stop in Toronto will be its sixth and most anticipated stop thus far.
Besides Nobuo Uematsu, other composers from well known series will also make an appearance, including Takenobu Mitsuyoshi, composer of the gaming sensation Shenmue; and Jeremy Soule, who recently won an MTV Video Music Award for his musical score for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Music from other titles include the Silent Hill, Metal Gear, World of Warcraft, Castlevania, and Sonic the Hedgehog franchises.
The Toronto Orchestra and Chorus is also expected to make an appearance, conducted by no other than Arnie Roth, Grammy Award-winning conductor. The concert will take place in The Hummingbird Centre, located at the heart of the city itself. "The Hummingbird Centre, located in the heart of downtown Toronto, is the perfect venue to host this concert series which pulses to the beat of modern life." - Jason Michael Paul, producer of PLAY! Symphony.
