The langauge of violence is universal, and if the sheer number of (mostly crappy) World War II games out there, gamers love shooters.
What is your favorite shooter and why? What is your favorite weapon out of all of the famous first-person shooters? My favorite would be, without peer, Half-Life 2. The gameplay is smooth and fast-paced, not to mention terrifying at times. It's a near-miracle that this comes packaged with a well-written, involving storyline, and graphics that would make your grandmother blush make this a game no one will ever forget. As for my favorite weapon, how could it be anything other than the Gravity Gun? It was my favorite when I found out I could use it to launch sawblades at zombies and cut them in half. Then later, when I was able to pick up soldiers and throw them at other soldiers, I decided I would have sold my wife into slavery for one if I could. My favorite is Half-Life 2. If you don't like this game, then fu** you! So what are your favorites?

![]() I never much cared for them, tbh. Last one I played that even came close to being an FPS was Dirge of Cerberus. I just can't get into them. |

Why is this in the Gathering Square? *Moved*
As for mine, I don't know if you'd classify it as a FPS or not but I'd say the Metroid Prime franchise. I'm not a fan of FPSes, but that game gives me hope. Now, for Metriod Prime 3: Corruption. <3 If that doesn't count, then Killzone is my second choice. It's the only other one I found remotely enjoyable.

Rainbow Six Vegas all the way for me. The game is good and the motion, pace, and gameplay is terrific. As for my favorite weapon, it would probably be the tactical sniper. Sniping enemies has always been my favorite thing to do in all gun games.

System Shock 2. Most immersive game I have ever played. Everything was done so amazingly well. The utter lack of ammo at the beginning of the game coupled with the lack of health kept me on the edge of my seat. The holodisks, the 'always being one step behind everything happening', the amazing writing, story and visual design just created such an amazing atmosphere and kept the adrenaline going. Then there was SHODAN, who is quite simply one of, if not the best villain ever, summed up quite well here: http://gillen.cream.org/wordpress_html/?page_id=1103 SPOILER ALERT if you read it.

Does headbite in Aliens Versus Predator 2 count? Nothing beats walking on the ceiling up to a human and chomping his/her head off.
And what has been said in here: Its A Wonderful World Screens |
