Default Grandia Series

Which Grandia game do you think is best? Did you even like these series? If so, why?

me? I loved Grandia II. It had a story great graphics for it's time period and the battle system was original and pretty decent. I also loved the level up system it had. The characters were a nice touch and everything. Grandia III was good in graphics but the story line was weak and something about that game made me dislike it. I cannot exactly put my finger on it.

Grandia II, one of the best RPG's of all time. I love it, the battle system, the characters, the story, the twists, the villains, it's superb. I love it Grandia II. Which is why, Grandia III dissapointed me, the graphics were better... but that's about it.

Ive played Grandia 1, 2, and 3. So far i the first one is my favorite. If there's anything i like about this game is the unique battle system. no other RPG ive played comes close. Its easy to learn and addictive.

Grandia III did not come threw in the story line for me. The graphics were good and the battle system was still the same..just alittle updated. Other than that it was horrible. I wasted about $39.00 on it. I thought it would live up to what Grandia II had brought. Ah well, rent Grandia III if wanting to play it. Also, i have never played I so...maybe that is better than both? *shrugs*

i'm surprised so many people dont like grandia 3. i thought it was good, but thats just me.

grandia 2 is definatly better obviously, i played it on the dreamcast and it was excelent on that console.

but if u can try and pick up the first one. u dont have to buy it at a store though since its hard to find older games today. look on the internet like amazon or gamestop.com. i'm my opinion its the best one in the series and my personal fave.

has anyone played Grandia Extreme? havent played it yet.

That's another one I wanted to play! I think the battle system is totally different though, maybe I am mistaken. I remember looking at it and putting it down. lol.

I've played the PS2 version of Grandia II and I loved the battle which which imo is probably the best I've played on any JRPG ever, and the leveling up system was pretty good too. Graphics weren't too bad but the story and the characters were quite poor and weren't anything special, it may have been because of the overdone acting which was very disappointing considering most of the actors work on the MGS games but they were predictable in their actions and behavior.

Would like to play Grandia III some day if it does have the same battle system but it's not been released in the UK yet for some bizarre reason, or I've somehow just not seen it.

Well, I don't know anything about a Grandia 4. But, Square-Enix is known for procastinating. I mean, they won't have time to make a Grandia 4, but probably another Final Fantasy VII spin-off?

SE have still to make a FFVII real time strategy game so you'll have to wait for a Grandia 4 for a bit longer yet. They've got other things on right now anyway like Kingdom Hearts and the FF games which are bigger franchises than Grandia so I doubt they'll be in any rush to make a new one right now.

i dunno. ever since Square joined up with Enix its been slow. i remember when they had 7, 8, 9 came out in bak to bak years or within 2 years of each other. now it seems evrey time square comes out with a major game its like forever, excluding spinoffs. between 10 and 12 it was like 5 years. and i'm not sure if there's enough demand for a 4th one. then theres a bunch of other Square series that also need another sequal of somesort like Star Ocean.
