Another game to which I am amazed there isn't a thread on.
Okami is a game I'm sure many of you are familiar with, which tells the fable of the Japanese goddess Amateratsu Okami, embodied in a nimble wolf form, through a long and diverse seriees of stories inspired and drawn upon by stories from ancient Japanese religion, all of which is told through a beautiful, washed out, artistic image that emulates traditional artforms of the culture. The games unique gameplay approach is the "Celestial Brush", which allows you to draw shapes in the midst of battle and exploring in order to affect your surroundings. Although the shapes are limited in form, they're far from limited in variety, and allow you to create wind, cut things in half, change the sky from day-time to night, and back again, and many others that it would be a shame to spoil for those yet to play it. Any fans?

Okami is my dog.Well wolf to be exact. That game is purely amazing I fell in love with it. I tried to go through it at least three times. Makes me want to hook up the PS2 again and play the game all over again.
Use the celestial brush to control elements. The story is much more longer then expected and it is hard to put down the controller. (I think I will look into an avatar and signature in the late future of this game.)

This game took me away from FFXII only a few weeks after I started playing FFXII. No game has ever dragged me away from an FF game so soon before, so Okami must truly be something wonderful. And it is. The art style is beautiful, the gameplay is brilliant and the story is just wonderful. The only slight problem I have is with the music, but it's not a serious problem.
I could play Okami day and night for six months straight and not get fed up with it. |

This is a truly lovely game. It is so very creative and inspring with a number of innovative and fun features. It plays so smoothly and the controls are pretty much flawless. Okami is one of those unrrated standout games that none will touch.
Okami 2, yes? :P

Sure.
Lets just go and... you know... revive the now defunct Clover Studios who made the game and convince the people who left Capcom to start up Seed to come back and make it. Should be easy enough to do.

Okami was the wolf itself, not reincarnated as a wolf - -v
Yes, it was a beautiful and very great game. I actually forgot to mention it in "ur favorite game" section of my profile. I was fortunate enough to get my hands on it before FF12 came out, so I got to spend my time playing the hell out of that, before I sank my teeth into FF12. It is a long - engrossing story, but otherwise it isn't very difficult. The side missions are a bit confusing and definately time consuming but overall a good addition to completing the game and attaining certain weapons and abilities. The addition of the celestial brush into the mix of an alrdy great looking RPG was a real user-friendly feature that was able to hook many different generations of gamers, rather than just the RPG-saavy enthusiasts. The graphics and style of the game played so well into the story and culture of ancient Japan - as well as the music, awesome music! I'm glad they make strategy guides for such games.. as it would be difficult to get through some of the puzzles w/o it. Otherwise you could be stuck on some of these puzzles wondering.. wtf do I do now!? So glad I own it..
