So I followed Golden Sun and Golden Sun II all through its difficult puzzle, amazing fights, and engaging plotline only to be left hungry for more. In my opinion Golden Sun while not being huge in marketing and such is quite possibly one of the best RPGs I've ever played. I am however saddend that I have not heard anything on a GSIII yet? Anyone know anything I don't?

I recently bought Golden Sun 2 (I've owned the first for several years). I've been busy playing Pokemon and so haven't made it very far into the games. They are amazing games and some of the best not only on the GBA but on any system.
As for Golden Sun III, I've heard nothing either, and it doesn't look like we'll be hearing anything soon.

Sorry, haven't heard anything about the series in a long time, but I had a really good time with it a while back. The battles and graphics were pretty awesome for a GBA game. And the music as well.

Golden Sun is probably one of my most favourite RPG, and favourite period, game for the GBA. Despite the system it's on, the graphics really weren't so bad. The puzzles were challenging yet fun, the battle system was ace, and the story line was well thought out and kept me interested through the whole game. I'd comment on two, but I haven't gotten very far into yet, though I'm sure its good as, if not better than the first.
And no, I haven't heard anything about a GS3, nor do i think we will be any time soon. |

"Since 2003, many fans hoped for another sequel, especially when a Camelot representative announced that "the current status of a third game ... is still up in the air;"[4] however, there has been no confirmed announcement for its development or production.
The lack of updates on any new releases following The Lost Age have perpetuated rumors across the Golden Sun fan community over the years, and there have been separate fan attempts to outright hoax a new Golden Sun game to the public. The most recent hoax occurred on July 11, 2007, where an early version of a DS game called "Golden Sun: The Solar Soothsayer" was reportedly shown off at a small pre-E3 gathering, with cell-phone images taken to prove it.[5] After this was decried as a hoax by official sources [6], the story and images were ultimately proven as part of a hoax by a confession from the creator, who said in a later interview that he made it to generate more discussion about the series and prompt Camelot into making a sequel"

I also enjoyed playing the two Golden Sun games. I am pretty sure that the first Golden Sun was my first game for the Game Boy Advance. Both games had amazing graphics considering that they were Game Boy Advance games. I still can't believe a third one hasn't been released yet, they were excellent games after all.

I've played both of these games and thoroughly enjoyed them both, although I never could beat the final boss of 2. I would kill 2 of its heads, but never quite get the third one.
I really enjoyed being able to journey to all of the other continents in 2, although regretted not being able to revisit locations from 1. |

Golden Sun is a failure. It includes the most insulting collection of role playing clichés, which I wouldn't have a problem with if it were to have been executed in an intelligent and entertaining manner. The plot presentation was literally yawn inducing from point A to Z, and the main villains were not even given MOTIVES for their actions. Very trite, and the entertaining battle system with its near Pokemon like class fusing system isn't nearly enough to forgive its pathetic execution.
I finished the first one, and I've seen absolutely no incentive to try the second, if it's anything like the first. Last edited by Grand Cross : 10-21-2007 at 10:45 PM. |

I played the first one, and loved it. Bought the second one, and I've never played more than two minutes of it. The one thing I hate about Golden Sun, is there are gaps in the game where the characters talk for a ridiculous amount of time. Stuff like that shouldn't happen in a portable title.

I would have to disagree with Grand Cross. I acknowledge that on some levels Golden Sun brings together many RPG cliches but when I played this game I found myself being drawn in. I think this is due to the high quality of the writing and the excellent twist at the beginning of the second part.
Golden Sun remains one of my all-time favourite RPG's and I adore the work of Camelot who also made the Shining Force series. I hope they don't bring out a Golden Sun III as I felt that the story came to its natural ending at the end of the second part. |

I played and beaten both Golden Sun I and II like most games it has its flaws but despite these factors it was a good game with a engulfing story line which left you wondering whats next ,it had all the right elements especially for a game on the GBA
As for Golden Sun III there really is no need, the Bad guys are dead the Heroes Accomplished their goals what else is their to elaborate on sometimes things are better left alone |
