Default Suikoden 5

Anyone played this episode in Suikoden series? I myself find this game pretty good, not as good as the second game but far better than S4. I never completed it though since I got to the last dungeon but realized I had to few good characters so i resterted all and am now looking for all 108 stars.
Anyone like this game?

A half-decent series. Suk 3 and 5 were pretty good, nothing stellar but good and Suk 4 was just awful. I'd suggest staying away from that one.

For they could not love you, but still your love was true
And when no hope was left in sight, on that starry starry night
You took your life as lovers often do,
But I could have told you, Vincent,
This world was never meant for one as beautiful as you

A fair disappointment, to say to least.

When the game shined, it really did sign. The art-style worked, but so many of the game was done through static conversation and text boxes that it killed a lot of the atmosphere. The gameplay, whilst a step up from IV, was also lacking.

I think it's going to be hard for them to ever beat III.

I hate "region" system!

(Thus, it prevents me from playing the game)

The only one I've played is Suikoden III, and I only played that because a lot of ppl were saying that it's one of those rare great games. The story to 3 was ok, characters were good, and music was great to me. The one turn off about the game, and I MEAN TURNOFF, is that fact that there isn't any cutscence special effect moments! Other than that, a huge list of characters and good story. So how are the others?

Suikoden I and II where both some of the best rpg's i've played that isn't FF. This two games are connected by story (Every Suikoden is somewhat connected, but these games being a little more tight) and you visit same places, get many same characters e.t.c. Both games are magical.

Suikoden 4 was not that good, although a decent game. The bad side of the game according to me, is the story changes too drastic and the color/graphics looks boring and dull.

Suikoden 5 was actually pretty good, but the random encounter rate was too high (Very annoying, considering you barely get any XP from enemies that's around your lvl). And the graphics sucked hard. As for the story...I kinda liked it. ;D

So do you think that the series is dying or is dead? Will there be a Suikoden 6?
This series is only the playstation right?

There will be a 6 (I think). And all games was for PSX/PS2.

If the series are dying? Hm...yeah kinda.. I mean the old games was a whole lot better and the ones they realese now, you play pretty much only for their title "Suikoden". But that seems to be the case with Final Fantasy nowdays too... =(

I've only played the odd numbered games, but was told enough to avoid 4. Almost wanted to try tactics, but bought Disgaea instead (Very glad I did!) As far as V is concerned, I liked it better than III, mostly because I hated jumping around between characters, and I did not care for the map system. In retrospect, I never actually managed to beat the last boss in 5, even with Ryhalt/Richard on my team, all at lvl 60. Maybe I'll go back and try again sometime soon...
