Metroid series

Not the biggest out of all of Nintendo's franchises but game-for-game it's the most consistent. Not played the first two games myself but from Super Metroid to the Gamecube's two Prime games it's delivered some of the best games for near 20 years with fantastic gameplay and musical scores. Right now I'm playing through the GBAs Metroid Fusion which is disappointing for the lack of Metroids but still an enjoyable game.

Anyone else played any of the games and what are your views of the series?

The only games I've really played from the Metriod series were Metriod Prime and Metriod Prime 2: Echoes, both for the Gamecube. Both games were great, they rank high on my list of best games of all time. I was disappointed when Metriod Prime 3: Corruption was pushed back from its planned release alongside the Nintendo Wii, but that means that the game'll be that much better, much like Twilight Princess. It's possibly my most anticipated game for the Wii next to Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

i've played several of the games, and i've enjoyed them all. The first metroid game is still one of my favs, but the best of them all is Super Metroid. One of the best games ever created. And Metroid Prime, which is different from the others, is also a very good game. Imo, it's one of the best series of games Nintendo have done.

Doesn't Metroid Fusion take place after Metroid 3? I don't know. I saw the Legend of Zelda retrospective on the time line, I wonder if there's a Metroid one, too.

Metroid is quite fun. A bit puzzling, but quite fun. Metroid Prime was awesome. I played Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. These boss battles seem to be getting harder? It haunts me because I gave up my second play of MP2 because it's on Hard mode. Blasted Boostball Guardian.
