Some what disheartening

Uhm...... i kinda noticed that when ever i make a post in a thread, it usualy ends up bieng the last post to be made in that particular thread. im just wanderin why this is, i mean......u cant all hate me.....can you?

Not that i care, just wanderin is all.

OH! and dont post a reply about me bein a sook or a baby cos i cant handle ppl hatin me, cos ur a freakin idiot if u do, seriously just give an honest answer and be on your way.

At the current time, a few users are inactive and/or are delayed in their replies.

Keep on posting and someone will reply eventually. It could be that it's a tad hard to read when posts are broken up with text-talk. Still, requesting users to post an honest opinion then pretty much saying "If you post something negative about me, then you're an idiot" is also sending somewhat of a mixed message out there - if you're going to ask for honest responses, then please simply take all forms of responses i.e. negative and positive in all good way.

Hell, I'm sure if I were to make such a topic I'd get a few "STFU LAMONT! I HATE YOU!" replies but that isn't going to phase me as this is simply a forum... and all forums have periods of slow time (that sometimes we call Forum Hibernation). So don't worry about it.

Lamont, no one hates you on these forums silly. Even if you were going to rant about your insecurity the only fraction of a responce that you could get would be a stfu at best, and I know that I nor any of the regular members would be the culprit in saying it.

As for you Fiend Hunter, im almost positively sure that it's not your fault that the fourum isn't responding to your comments, its just a bit of a dry season here at the moment, but don't worry, a couple of news threads always gets the site active and bustling with townsfolk in no time. I posted something, nothing much but if you have any SE news that you would like to write about give it a go. Soon EdgarxTerraFigarro will be posting in every damn section of the forum in no time xD

Sorry, I've been on work calls a lot lately, tom has been messaging me lately, so it takes a while for my replies. A section of my work building blew up, so I was held up by a whole day LoL

But just so peoples kno, i wasnt refering to myself. i know forums go thru "dry spells" and what not. what i meant was, why is it, that when i make a post in any thread it becomes a dead thread. bout 2 or more years back the same stuff was happenin to me aswell. it's like everyone kno's me and then kinda..... avoids me? (i kno this is soundin weird agen but please bear with me) it's just..... im REALY curious as to why this is. hell, the same thing happens to me on MSN i get invited to a convo (20 or so ppl) and every one leaves.... it's just......weird, they could at least say why there leavin.

Sorry if u guys are annoyed by the way i say stuff or how i seem to word things wrong, im just made of fail. lolz.

Terra means that she sent you a message... possibly - depends on whether or not she remembered to send it.
Generally, it will say in the upper-right hand corner that you have a new message if you have disabled the standard pop-up window in your User/Member CP (Control Panel).

Aside from that, I have to agree with Terra - just relax, everyone will get around to replying sooner or later. I must also thank you for starting to type out your words, that in itself makes me much more inclined to reply much faster (so I'm not sitting there going "What the hell does that mean? God, I hate short text-talk." as it just makes reading posts SO hard when you're tired).

Surely, you are good at "shrt" and/or text-talk... however it does in actual fact become an annoyance if you're trying to read a long post (or one that has not been paragraphed and/or spaced out)... it just makes a lot of people - including myself go "ARGH! I can't keep on trying to read this, what does this User mean?!", which is why I didn't reply quickly on my late-night posts as I was too tired to actually finish reading all of the latest posts on the forum... meaning I would have replied within moments of your initial posts.

((Trust me, not singling you out on here or anything at all like that - it's just a common issue on forums whereas other forums and/or websites encourage users to use "shrt" and/or text-talk in posts... most people just type out their words completely on FFE unless it generally references jokes or other such small things. I do generally request that people try to keep it to a minimum, considering the issues I have mentioned above and additionally keeping in mind users from other countries who may get confused due to learning English as a second, third or even fourth language or may have limited English which makes a complete language barrier issue when "shrt"/text-talk is used)).

At the current time, there's a lot of work for people in school and people are taking more shifts at whatever place of employment they are at to try and make up for the economy. With SE pushing back projects, there has been less news and therefore less activity.

Not to mention a fair amount of people were frightened away by that nasty fiasco a while ago, so the forums are still slowly recovering... either way old and new users are slowly returning and are slowly posting once more. Hopefully this activity shall increase soon.

Also....fiasco? uhm.....unless i did sumthing REAAAAAALLLLLYYY big and bad...... wasnt me and i dont remember it.....*shifty eyes*....

They've released some, others they have currently delayed. If you read the news section you'd know that.

The fiasco was not related to you, it was a completely separate incident and is the main reason as to why the edit button is currently disabled for post editing. It's quite a long story to explain it, but if you read my post properly I said that basically another reason there has only been a few users online recently after that is that a few people were scared off because of that. However, we (the other moderators, myself and the Site Staff) have fixed the issue.

The websites aren't always updated, press releases do need to be kept up in interviews and whatnot. I know that the European SE site is updated every few... months in comparison to reading some of the staff member's blogs or even e-mailing some of them for the latest information that hasn't been uploaded by the Website team.

And yes, the Edit button is back. Thank Ralph for re-enabling it.

Rule no1, when posting on the internet, don't take it personaly if you don't get the feedback that you might be hoping for.

Sometimes I used to get abit peeved if I felt I wasn't being heard but eventually, I realized that in cyberspace when I visit these message boards, I'm communicating with a group of random strangers who frankly, owe me nothing and vice versa.

After that, it only ever made sense to post if I had a notion to share with Joe Public. If an opinion of that notion is forthcoming then great but if not, it's still out there for people to read if they want to.

You're not a sook or a baby but you are in danger of being a touch oversensitive.
