This is a very, very fun thing I found out about on a "You know you're obsessed with FF when" list a year ago and decided to try it. I call it "classing." It's an incredibly fun (and nerdy, but nerdy is good!) thing that I highly suggest to all FF fans to try.
Here's what you do: I. Go look up some FF job classes and the kinds of clothing specific to that job class. II. Pick a job class to be for the day. III. Go to your wardrobe and look around for pieces of clothing to match the job class as well as possible. The main thing here is colors...worry more about colors than style. Trust me, the style will usually fall into place if you match the colors properly. Don't forget jewelry too. This is an extremely fun and addicting thing to do. I highly suggest you pick your daily job class the day before though, or risk it being kinda time-consuming in the morning. I took a long break from it for a while because I started to experiment with dressing like other videogames and eventually had too much going on to have time for it, but I've finally gotten back to it and I'm really sorry I ever left it behind. Give it a try and see how it turns out!

I've done this for many, many years.
XD It's rather fun to do. I general stick with the Mage (All mages), Ranger or Thief classes though. (Admittedly, I would have done it today but I've been dressed like RE3 Jill today...)

I'm doing Ranger
My Ranger top has Happy Bunny on it xDDDDD EDIT: No it doesn't, that top looked horrible with a Ranger ensemble PS: Lucky stiff. Your Jill outfits are al probably better than any of the times I attempted to be Jill. Note to self: Jill is BLUE.

((As for that, the only thing I'm missing is the brown boots. The RE: Apocalypse/movie Jill has brown boots so I can get away with a technicality, but I was going through my wardrobe and noticed some clothes and went "You're here? *Spots white jumper* You're here too?!" </RE1 quotes> I forgot that I had a blue top, in the exact shade of blue and the same pattern/cut/style as Jill's RE3, I have a skirt the same as well, and a white jumper. I have one with S.T.A.R.S. on it somewhere too. o_O I might take some photos for you once the weather cools down - too hot to cosplay here at the moment)). At the moment, I'm having a Black Mage moment. Probably going to switch to Ranger later as I have camo green clothing (that actually match Jill's S.T.A.R.S. uniform from REmake oddly...) as well as spring/forest green and brown shades.

I can do Dragoon easily without spiked armor.
Like I said, focus on the colors and the style will fall into place, spiked armor or not.
