Can I comment even though I ain't finished Cross?

Trigger was a game that I played over and over again and not just 'cause Magus was one sexay bitch (though that helped :P). I liked the storyline, the combo system, the characters and the lovely settings (Zeal, ftw). Cross wasn't a bad game but I couldn't arsed to keep playing it.

So yeah, Trigger easily.

Cross was very different compared to Trigger, and since so many people hate change, it's hard to find people who actually enjoyed both. i think they were both great, for reasons many of you have already mentioned. i became even more interested in the concept of time than i already was, too.
i should also mention, Cross had one of the best soundtracks of any game in quite a long time; some would argue it's the best. i'd still like to get my hands on the OST sometime, if the chance ever presents itself.

Cross did have a fantastic soundtrack, I think you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who'd argue with you on that.

Like I said, if it weren't for the fact that they crammed half the plot into a fifteen-minute exposition on the second disc I'd probably rank it higher than Trigger.

Trigger. A classic, great plot, excellent characters, smooth graphics, unlike Cross.

And yes, I was annoyed at Disk 3 in Cross. It was full of...nothing. So slow, just a filler.

Trigger, just because I can play the game and not like 2 minutes into the game before it freezes on me. Damn Chrono Cross disc.

o fux, I forgot Chrono Cross had three discs, not two. I must've been thinking of Xenogears. Even though I still haven't finished that. ._.

Chrono Cross had a better soundtrack and a better storyline if one could follow it thoroughly. Chrono Trigger was the better game in all other aspects, especially in character depth, which was slightly lacking Chrono Cross.

Nah, you were right the first time Chrono Cross had only 2 discs. Also I wouldn't call Xenogears a 2 discer either, more like 1.3 discs.

My opinion on the games is that both were awesome but Cross loses out due to crap characters, having a lot of them was cool but yeah, they weren't very interesting. Still love the game though, definitely Yasunori Mitsuda's best soundtrack and heck one of the best soundtracks in a game period. I still listen to it even now; it is the game soundtrack that I have had the longest in my active playlist.

Well since I got stuck on the hi-ho tank in cross and it rapes me every time I give it another shot I'm going to have to go out on a limb and say I prefer Chrono Trigger.

Good sweet Christ.

Chrono Trigger.

Chrono Cross had beautiful graphics, amazing music and a ****-ton of characters... but I feel like it really broke a lot of CT's story.

Cross or Trigger?? Trigger or Cross???

I played a little of Trigger but i really enjoyed it, for being a snes game it was excellent. instead i played like three times Cross. both games provide you the different roads to take your story depending on what you do, but in cross you had like twenty available charactes, that gave a some sort of plus.

But best of all is to conect both games through their stories and to see elements from Trigger in Cross.

... i have to finish some day trigger...

Default I Joined cuz I can't take it.

All right, this probably the only post i'm gonna make, Chrono Cross is my ALL time favorite game. Then Xenogears (stuck on very last boss...still) then down to FFX. Back to Chrono Cross, this game takes a LOT of patience to fully apreciate it. First of the second CD is a waste, it holds 11 f'ing endings on it, sure this may be a little bit excessive. However each ending plays in part to a conclusion that is made in the players own subconscience, in other words, this simple plot...ain't so simple. I've played Chrono Cross maybe 4 or 5 times now and I still haven't even started getting board with it (also, each game you can get one or two rainbow shells and build up the best weapons in the game). Now I can't say anything on Chrono Trigger so I won't bash it down, instead I will implore ALL of you people to atleast play Chrono Cross and re-play it, because there is more than any of may think in those 2 discs.

...........Phew.....wow that felt great to get off my chest!

I've played both Cross and Trigger but out of the two I enjoyed Trigger more. I was introduced to Trigger when I was 13 or so by my best buddy and he loved it. Each of the characters rocked. How can you not like Ayla's cat like graces? Frog's sword techniques were amazing. Magus was a pure bad dude and he was an even better party member. One thing I didn't get was the lack of characters you could use if you selected to rename your characters. It was like what 5 letters only? That doesn't give you much of an opportunity to come up with something. I mainly called Frog or Frogy, sure it was spelled wrong. The double combo attacks and triple combo's were amazing. Illuminaire was my all time favorite spell followed by Magus' Dark Matter - now that one was wild. I liked the way you could go back through with all of your ultimate weapons and choose to fight Lavos by going to the 'Bucket'. Was anyone ever able to get all of Magus spells? Did you all choose to kill him or let him live?

Onto Cross and sadly I enjoyed this game but the game play didn't hit on anything. I didn't understand it. All of the using elements as attacks instead of your weapon. The story was amazing and intense and I've beaten it once but have never picked it up again. It just didn't appeal to me to beat it over again. Now for the music - both of these soundtracks are amazing. I believe Cross is better than Trigger. Well there is my two cents.
