Default Vagrant Story

WHY IS THERE NOT A THREAD ON THIS?!

An old classic from the later years of the PS1, Vagrant Stories was a complex, deep real-time RPG which took some very unique approaches to the genre, back up with an inspiring and vivid art-style which has only recently seen itself resurface in FFXII, a game not surprisingly made by the same group of people.

Er.. I think there is a thread on this... But in all respect. It is a good game. The bosses make you have a run for your money and the final boss is extremely intimidating. It took me a year to beat... and I usually beat a game start to finish within two to three weeks or only a few days. Depends on how much time I spend on it...

If there is, it's in the wrong section.

The sound of clinking armour, the sound of your blade being drawn from it's scabbard, the sound of your blows pounding the evil that awaits behind every door, the sparks of light that explode from crushing risk-breaker attacks, the bosses that fill the entire screen, the intense pressure you feel when your faced with a Earth Dragon and forgot to save, the enigmatic and genius characters, the dialogue, the drama, the twists, the epileptic ecstasy and the pure medieval greatness of it all...and no, this is not a PS2 or even a PS3 title...THIS IS VAGRANT STORY.

In my opinion the best action RPG to have ever of appeared on the market, and a gem from the golden age of Square ( even Final Fantasies creator Hironobu Sakaguchi having a major part in its creation). The battle system is a little complex at the start, but gradually becomes more and more rewarding as your progress. I honestly think this is an essential purchase for anyone who is in anyway serious about RPGs. I'm just so glad I've come across people who feel as passionate about it as I do. I just can't believe it didn't seriously take over the world, how could it not of ?

If Jesus were a Transformer he would be disguised as a mint condition ( with manual) copy of Vagrant Story . Just go grab yourself a slice of its awesomeness.

Yep I love the game but hated fighting so many dragons. EoT, I'd say you can get it on psp because it's just a great game to have in your collection .

To elaborate on my Irish friend's post, there's also one other reason to love this game.

You can see the lead characters butt quite clearly in that outfit.

Not to mention Hardin's. His trousers reveal more of the crack area than Ashley's, great character.

This game was just too hard for me in my opinion. The game didn't have a in-depth tutorial for me to understand the game any better. The game did have it's awesome in game scenes and comic-book style of diaglogue, the fighting element was precise and strategic, but taltogether just too hard for me to tolerate. I ended up trading this game in within the month I purchased it, probably not a wise decision with his value now, but at the time I was just frustrated.

Never completed this game, but got it at home somewhere. Reminds me alot of Final Fantasy 12,.
