Default Xenogears

I'm three hours through it, and my conclusion is that I fail for not playing it earlier.

Discuss this amazing game here. Just be sure to mark your spoilers.

It's my favorite RPG. You'll probably like the political stuff, Aaron. It also deals a lot with religion.

Yeah, I'm quite fond of those two aspects thus far.

I liked it when I played it a while back. Very good game. But at times I got somewhat confused either in the story cause
it goes pretty fast paced in the second disk and it gets climactic really quick
but overall I liked it. I loved it when you got to use the system ID.

The second disk was a joke, I cry at the wasted potential. Damn you Chrono Cross!

I never thought the second disc was as bad as people made it out to be. It just took a more narrative turn, that's all. It's quite well done for a video game.

Wtf is with those monsters that can't be damaged by gears' normal attack, or require a built-up double attack to take damage? it's annoying.

I don't recall, it might have something to do with gears being so huge and slow and easy to dodge.

It was a pretty damn good save by the designers of the game, it could have ended up totally crap. But it was still quite a shock after such a great first disc. The sudden change is like, "whoa wtf, I spent 40 hours on the first disc, slowly picking away at the story and now BANG here's everything!"

Xenogears would have been one of the best rpgs of all time, if it weren't for that.

I managed to grab a copy of this at Gamestop when Square released this as a Greatest Hits title along with Vagrant Story. Now this was released in the middle of the PS2 lifespan so I wasn't really interested in the game, but just the fact that I have a copy means alot. I had the demo of this back when I purchased a copy of Parasite Eve. I thought the battles were pure awesomeness. I dont know how I lost interest when I bought the GH version. But a wise investment of twenty dollars.

Played it a while back, and I have completely forgotten everything about it: the story, characters, etc. But I remember though that it was kickass, so I probably will go back to it soon.
