Star Ocean 4, your first thoughts?

Hey, so Famitsu had recently published the first screens of SO4. It looks really cool so far, but I'm personally disliking one of the main character's names. It appears that there is two main characters this time around, a male and a female. The male character's name is Edge Maverick. Hopefully Square or actually Enix decides to change the name.

Either way, I heard the game's setting is going to be a bit later from the adventures from the third game, but not so far that you can't meet the older characters. =D

That sounds like win to me. =D

Edge Maverick? Doesn't that seem a little bit mediocre compared to other character names? The most disliked name I've heard since Edge Maverick probably was Dingo Egret from Zone of the Enders 2.

I don't think that the main character's name sounds so bad. It could be better, yes, but it could also be a lot worse than that.

My friend said she didn't like the Maverick part of the name, but I quite like it. [ :

I just hope he doesn't have spikey hair.

Yeah the gravity defying spiked up has out grown its use. Now on the topic of the name. I don't like the maverick part as well. Edge would probably work though. It is mediocre but up to standards.

SO4? Only game I never played in these series was number 2. Like the games a lot so this could probobly be good but SO has always been to much "space" for me. Sci-fi rpg's are not the most appealing to me.

(The girl next to the sword guy looks HOT)

Yeah just like the article mentioned, this installment will have us traveling across the galaxy so we will be traveling around to more than just Espel. If we're traveling to alot of planets, this will probably be a bigger game than the previous installments.

Its coolio we're having the male and female characters to chose, like SOS 2. I loved that game because no matter which character you played, both stories became interwined. I wasnt a fan of SOS3, but Im hoping I may enjoy this one ^^

Yeah I agreed with you there about Star Ocean 2. The fact that you can either choose Claude or Rena was just awesome, and also the 80+ endings the game has? Wow, I couldnt fathom playing it that much to get all those endings.

That must be hell of a big game. But they'r remaking 1 and 2 Star Ocean games for the PSP. Good thing i'll be able to play it then.

I'm wondering on how that will play out on the PSP. Star Ocean 2 spanned across two discs so I dont know how that will work out on a UMD. But if you are correct with that, I will be happy to see SO2 on the PSP...it was one of my favorite RPG's of all time.
