I liked him a lot better than any of the Sorceress' in any case, he had ambition and determination. Tbh, I probably liked him way more than Squall.

Seifer would have been a cool character to actually play. I wouldn't mind seeing what it would be like to play his part after he becomes Edea's knight. Even though he did indeed follow his dreams blindly I believe Ultemicia was very persuasive and had him to believe that was his dream. She WAS however a
sorceress.

I liked him at first coz he was a ****ing badass but when he became Edea's bitch he kinda lost his momentum.

I liked him as Edea's bitch. He gave me a reason to hate him as much as the characters did. I liked him on the Dollet mission though. He had a badass limit.

What made Seifer a good villain (in my opinion) was that you love to hate him!

Throughout the game at many different points I found myself really wanting to punch Seifer, whether it be his cruelty, his badasss rebelliousness or his whinging for things like when he failed his exam thingy. Generally he was a great character as he did make the plot alot more interesting, without him the whole saving the world from the sorceress wouldve been a lot less fun. And plus his in-your-face attitude really made up for the lack of attitude and emotion of squall (he so does not suit the role of main character)

I take it Seifer got his scar from Squall, in return? I never really found out during the game.

In the opening video, they are seen as two rivals in what looks like an epic battle - soon revealed to be a mere training session for SEED.

At first, Seifer gains the upper hand, casting what looks like [Fire] on his opponent. He draws back his blade, staring sadisticly at a kneeling Squall, then *SLEESH!* Blood drips to the ground, below Squall's now-scarred face
(to which he has treatment for while the game begins)
.
In return, Squall comes to his senses - visibly angry - before charging in and using an attack which appears to be [Rough Divide], his Limit Break if you will. Seifer is shown recoiling just as the FMV comes to a close.
When the actual game starts, the instructor (Quistis) says something about being careful not to injure your partner next time.
There are several moments in the vid where you can see Seifer without the scar.

YouTube - FF8 intro, Liberi Fatalis - So, yeah, I'll say that's how both were given.

As for the main topic,

...I think I liked him. O_o
I do recall wanting to play as him longer. He looked pretty cool aswell, in that jacket of his, the mean-looking profile and the way he slashed with his gunblade (which you can also trigger, in case you didn't know). His limit breaks would have sucked compared to the others', though. And when he became Edea's guard, I just wanted to beat the s**t of of his cocky ass.
I never really looked at him as a villain (hatred)...more like someone who needed teaching.

I found Seifer rather enjoyable tbh ^^

Besides, the story wouldn't be the same without him, they did all grow up together afterall.

Fighting him was fun, and I guess he was Ok, but a bit too annoying for me.

I love Seifer. I would have rather played him instead of Squall any day of the week. Squall's attitude always really annoyed me. He never seemed to care about anything, and even after everything was over he just sorta still sorta seemed like....'whatever' :/ Not to endearing to me.

Seifer had a dream, and he had ambition. He didn't, or probably couldn't, go with the flow, because the 'flow' isn't always for everyone.

Yes, he was an *******, but damn it, he knew what he wanted, and was frustrated that he couldn't have it and angry cause he had to 'conform'.

Seifer = Love.

Yeah he's cool but i must say that when....
Spoiler
You are at that place where Rajin and Fujin or whatever turns their fate the Squall instead and you fight Seifer for the last time before Adel i hated him. Thought he was a real jerk and a son of a bitch. But only at that point.
Spoiler end

seifer and squall had the strange yin-yang thing going on, and honestly, there should have been more of him in the game, he is absent except as a tool.... its sad really

Well Seifer is kinda like Squall... Both of them don't like any1 to boss them around... Seifer followed his dream and destany but Squall doesn't care for anything on the world!
