Best party in FFIX

Which four characters made up your strongest party in FFIX?

My main party usually consists of Zidane, Vivi, Dagger and Freya.
Ziddane's nearly always the main playable character, so he's usually the strongest of the lot by the end of the game. Vivi because of his Black magic, Dagger because of her white Magic and Freya because if you use jump at the right time she can completely dodge attacks that would normally all but wipe out your party, and then start healing the others.

Zidane, Dagger, Steiner and Eiko or Zidane, Steiner, Dagger and Vivi, everyone else was nothing compared to these two party formations. I found Freya and Amarent obsolete compared to Steiner. Quina was ok just there was better options.

By the time I got to the end of the game. I mainly used: Zidane, Dagger, Eiko and Freya.. I ass whooped with Summons and basically killed off every boss easily by just using Dagger and Eiko's combined summon attacks. Zidane's Trance and Freya's dragoon techs helped out alot. Stiener and Vivi were next in line. I never used Quina or Amarent at all..

Zidane, Vivi, Steiner, Amarant.

Complete Overpower.

I usually go with Steiner for the sure weaponssklls, Vivi for the firepower, Garnet because she's a kickass healer and Freya because...well, I just happen to like her. :P I might also swap out either Freya or Steiner for Zidane because he's a useful character from time to time.

Zidane, Steiner, Vivi, Eiko.

Eiko may not have had as many summons, but her white magic spells were vastly more useful in live saving situations, which is where it really counted for me. Summons are great, but they get old.

My first time through the game i used Zidane, Vivi, Quina and Freya. But when i played the game the second time i noticed Steiner's potencial. A lot happened and now i mainly use Zidane, Amarant, Steiner and Dagger/Garnet (I know her real name but don't want to spoil)

Yup, though only with major battles.. like the one with Necron and I think the boss in Chocobo Garden?

For me anyway, when I was doing a playthrough and wanted a decent team I would choose Zidane, Eiko, Vivi and Steiner, but if I wanted something more challenging or interesting, I would usually concentrate on Zidane, Quina, Freya and Amarent. The only decent about either of them (bar Zidane) were their special abilities.

Wow. Final Fantasy IX brings back so many memories. I did use a well balanced team and got to finish the game with Zidane Final Trance since he was the only one alive and the other two were dead and one in a status effect. My team was-

Zidane, Freya, Eiko, and Dagger (The princess)

I didn't figure out until the semi-end of the game that I was the only male between the group of three females. Freya confused me so much at times but it was cool to have a rat on the team.

Riiight, fer' My first time through, i went for Zidane, Vivi, Steiner (Changed to Eiko, when i got her) and Dagger.

Wondered why my party was a little weak, and it was 'cause i was levelling 2 healers.

2nd time, i went for Zidane, Vivi, Steiner + Freya (Freya swapped to Amarant)

3rd time, Zidane + anyone. I tried a game using just Zidane. Sounds easy enough, but it really isn't. I got the idea after watching some guy on youtube, whos really acomplished alot more with his games than others, so i thought, why not give it a go? Bad thing was, when you had a battle without Zidane... Whooah, Items <3!. :P. I got k.od alot , trying to run from monsters on the field, without Zidane.

MMmm, i didn't get too far on that game, im not sure if i got bored, or stuck.

Zidane (gotta have the main character), Quina (Blue magic was just sexy) and finally Freya and Steiner; both for their guaranteed 9999 damage attacks. Without them Osma would have been ridiculously hard.

Ha well, best would be Steiner (Shock ftw) Freya for white draw to keep that mana comming, Eiko for Holy and summons and vivi for his killer magic. GG all.

I didn't like his magic when i found out his last and supposely best magic crushes your own party.

If I recall correctly, which I may very well not, Vivi's final spell was shadow element, and 'twas much fun if you equipped shadow absorbing gear. I could be wrong.

vivis best spell was doomsday and ya it was shadow buy just give people ribbons and pumice pieces and youll own everything with it
