I've come across her many times, my last encounter was just lastnight. I defeated her easily but she still won't come over to join me. What am I doing wrong? After you defeat her she asks you to fight her again, lastnight I did and she didn't fight... she just stole 200 gil..

North of the exit you'll see some forests surrounding a small mountain area.
At this point you can actually recruit a new optional character. Run around
in these forests getting into fights until you battle a human girl wielding a
large Shuriken. She doesn't have much HP, once you defeat her you will
automatically be taken to a field area.

First of all, do NOT save at the save point. Speak to the girl on the ground.

Choose "Not Interested"
Choose "......petrified"
Choose "Wait a second!"
Choose "......that's right"
Choose "......let's hurry on"

And you'll get a chance to name Yuffie, then she joins your party.

I'm at the place where red XIII meet his "Grandfather" and stuff in the Cosmo Canyon. Right after you leave Corel Prison underneath the Gold Saucer.

just Basicly get through the canyan. Beet that big suit of armour up. Then get a great weapon for red.

By the way, when you do the Wutai side quest, [spoiler]make sure you're strong enough to survive fights in the area without materia[/spoiler]. A lot of people end up hating Yuffie for that side quest, but personally I found it one of the most endearing elements of character development in the entire game.

Anyways. Fran Aim for the Canyon. remember that if uve got somone with enemy skill Materia, Make them use it now. Ull learn a few gd moves. Also. Ull come across some cob webs with some spiders in them which are nasty. just watch ur step and everything and fight it gd. Remember to heal often aswell.

I've been through the cosmo canyon before *a different file* but it froze up on me so I had to restart.

Well. Juyst dont go crazy in there. It can be kinda tough if u dont raise ur charceters to a gd level.

Actually, you can do it any time after Cid flies you out of Rocket Town in the Tiny Bronco (provided, of course, you've acquired Yuffie). Found that out the hard way on my first playthrough when I was poking around into all the new areas I could access with the Tiny Bronco. [spoiler]Bitch stole my materia and I died at least four times trying to get to the Wutai capitol to get it back because I was at such a low level.[/spoiler]
