Default Just wondering whether you still do it

Are there any people around here that actually still play the Good'ol games?

I started FFVIII for the Xth time ( Yes it's definately 10 or more now), and I was quite frankly fascinated and can't await to go on later today )

Just wondering whether there is still people around here that share the enthusiasm (I know I spelled that wrong >_>) for those games?

I didn't find out about this site until recently, nor did ever bother to get me an emulator before....but it seems these froums are pretty dead (

I would if I had a working VIII and IX. Unfortunately, I only have a working VII and I finished it 2 months ago. Finished in a week with all the ultimate weapons, lvl 99, and 9 master materias. I haven't played I to VI in quite some time now. I think I'm going to revisit them now that I've read this thread.

Huh?

It's that time of the year again. Where school begins to take more time out of the week. If I stop showing up for more than a week, I'm probably just dead from the weight of the books.

I would like to play VII but i can't get past the part where one of the Weapons is attacking Midgar and they got that giant cannon to fire at it.... and the reason why is because the game freezes for no apparent reason, and no the disks arent dirty, they're in mint condition, literally.

VIII is kinda hard for me to get into, but im trying...

IX is my favorite of all time! I can't beat Kuja though....

It took me quite some time to get VIII running on an emulator, and it still messses the FPS up Doesn't affect the FMVs nor the normal gameplay, however the battles are annoying Have to use gunblade auto because it's just not possible to land a hit in Squall's limit otherwise The speed in battles is bad too But have no choice since "I left it all in that place..." ˇ_ˇ (It being my PS2, and all the games I had left before moving, that's FFVII, FFVIII, FFIX, and FFX ; that place being a far away country where my treasure lies.)

Not much to say about that but didn't want you to feel left out

Anyways I always felt VIII was the one I could bond best with...maybe due to the more realistic design, I loved seeing HOO-MANS...
Maybe because Squall is just one hell of a sob
I loved his char...I'm a bit like him ....well a bit >_>

@ Defeating Kuja: Try rapidly pushing the [x] button once the battle screen appears ˇ_ˇ Worked miracles for me ...I'm not sure but until OZMA I never had any trouble wih the FFIX bosses, apart from the fact that they JUST WOULDN'T DROP the item/weapon I was trying to mug from them

Especially when you read stuff like: xxx has Item yyy which you won't be able to acquire for a disc and a half if you don't mug it now. Always meant 2h of friggin nothing were about to follow with Zidane constantly failing to get that last mug and the other party members just standing there doing nothing but waiting for the need to heal Pissed me off on more then just a couple of occasions. But it's usually rewarded with some great items/weapons which eventually give you nice new abilities. Maybe that's why I never had trouble with bosses

Went on to finish the SeeD test yesterday, ended up restarting and changing configs for about an hour and a half, with no effort at all
(SeeD rank is gonna be crappy now that it took me ages to get to the beach, as I didn't manage to improve the Framerate for battle screens at all, and I already had over 10min left on the clock with Ifrit...Forgot that the time limit is for defeating him, not getting out of there too)

Thinking about whether to go through the trouble of getting Lion Heart on disc 1 or not

Afterwards it took me an hour to get the Zell card, lol

So I finished the day spending another hour drawing spells.

I don't feel like emulating on my PC. It's not that great. I'll find it elsewhere. That's too bad about the leaving your games behind.

lol wow. That's not too great for you then. I forgot about how tedious it could get drawing spells. I liked the whole idea about the spell drawing, but it got a little monotonous. I would've stopped after 15-20 mins already.

I don't really like the drawing system, but the whole Junction thing makes up for it ˇ_ˇ

Pisses me off that Zell is such a wuss in matters of drawing
Worst thing is you spend a lot of time drawing just to encounter some boss that has better spells then your X_X !"#¤¤%%&&//%¤#"¤&/%)(/¤"

Ok that's just .....I don't know....it's something beyond reasonable gaming affection. lol

Out of curiosity...did you ever go for excalibur in FFIX ?
Because that's one of the few things I haven't done yet (Shame on me)

I know....When I first read about this I was wondering how many things youd have to leave unfinished when you rush through like that and was kinda sad

Reached disk2 on VIII yesterday :]] (Squall is lvl 20 with 3.6k hp and about 500-800 phys-dmg) :]]
EDIT: Done with the Galbadia prison and the rocket base....currently floating towards FH and about to kick Norg's fat green ass...
(I have to say the prison remains one of the worst places I've ever seen in FF, as it's practically like a jump'n'run sequence without the jumping part...)
Also I somehow managed to abolish the "Open" rule in Balamb "It's just gone" so this will cost me some hours later on disk 3 to fix :[[

Btw I think with enough paint Paris Hilton would make a great edea in cosplay, so beware she's gonna pwn once she hooks up with some weird chinese, roleplay freak O_o (No offense to Chinese people; those that are "weird roleplay freaks" ...well....you could be offended but I don't think you'd care.)

I just got FFVIII for Christmas, and I got FFVII the Christmas before that. I am nowhere near finished with either one of them (can't play much due to Bonder's burden). So yeah, I love the "golden age" of FFs, just like every other FF. FFVII is actually my third favorite FF (it was my top favorite at one point). :)

I want FFIX but to be honest I'm afraid of one of the scenes in it involving Zidane and Vivi I heard about...something about teaching Vivi how to piss off a cliff? o_o Please tell me that is not a real scene

Hmm if I remember right , you don't actually see them pee....they just stand there and you hear some splashing....

Have to agree with GRAV, this scene is hilarious!!!
