The Hot Fuzz.

Worst movie ever. Horrible attempts at making jokes, this movie just kept making horrible jokes! I don't even wanna talk about it.

I saw Gridiron Gan yesterday. It tries to be a tearjerker but is hollywood forgetting that in no way or form...you just can't sympathize a criminal.
And again...Rocky is proving to be a great actor. Can't wait for that Terminator movie he is suppose to be doing.

Shawshank Redemption

Since it's, according to me, the best movie ever made, i have to watch i every once in a while. Probably Tim Robbins best acting ever and Morgan Freeman is always great. Just pure brilliance.

300

I heard nothing but good things about this movie from my friends that saw it. I finally saw it today. I must say that didn't end the way I thought it would, but it was even better than I thought anyway.

I'll give it a 9/10 because no movie is perfect.

Not true; I'd say The Good, the Bad and the Ugly is. And probably a few others as well. That said, perfect films are very rare.

Then I unfortunately have never seen a perfect film.

I think I might have seen The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, it's a western if I remember correctly, but it's been a long time since I've seen it.

The Good, the Bad and th Ugly is probably the best western movie ever made.

I just watched Bloodrayne. Must be one of the worst movies i've ever seen. If Uwe Boll got shot today, i wouldn't be the least sorry, i'd be happy. How can they keep letting that man ruin so many films?

Dead Daughters

This film is already massively hindered if you've seen the trailer beforehand. It's being promoted as the "first Russian J-Horror Movie" (just think about that phrase for a minute) which is totally unfair as this film isn't like Ringu, Ju-On etc.

The basic story is about a mother who drowned her 3 daughters. Their spirits then kill the mother (from beyond the crave) but find that their first for vengeance isn't quenched and so they continue killing. If you are "nice" for 3 days then apparently the spirits leave you alone. Admittedly, it sounds like a J-Horror style synopsis but it's executed totally differently.

With the exception of the first 10 minutes, the first hour or so relies much more on the psychological effect this story has on the main characters. Some try and confront it, others try and figure it out and some just isolate themselves and start cracking up.

Scare wise there's only really one 'cheap' scare (ie something appearing on screen accompanied by a loud noise/spike in the music) and most of the tension and atmosphere is by showing things briefly in the background or through some great sound effects. At times, it is genuinely quite freaky and a great example how good horror relies on sound just as much as visuals, if not more so.

The films main fault is its pacing and the fact that it isn't really sure what it wants to be. The majority of the film is methodical and atmospheric but then elements of slasher films and J-Horror films come in and they seem kind of out place and totally mess with the experience. They are good scenes on their own but in a film like this they seem like unwelcome additions.

I enjoyed it even with my expectations being totally different to the final product. It does seem longer than its 2 hours running time but that could be due to the scenes mentioned above.

I haven't seen a movie since 300 this past weekend. For how hyped it was, it wasn't as great as everyone says it is. Still a good movie, though.

Watched Ultraviolet yesterday, and it was a big dissapointment. It has the same director and writer as Equilibrium, which is a great movie, but this wasn't even close to be as good. Sure, it was quite entertaining, but the story was way too weak. Not enough backround story, way too predictable and not the best fighting scenes. Milla Jovovich has a great ass though

T.M.N.T.

Alot of bad reviews had me worried, even though most of them just bashed the movie for being too violent and that April O'Neil's waist will turn young girls anorexic.

As it turns out, it's prolly my second favorite Turtles film, just behind the original. The humor is really hit-and-miss and it's not as action-y as I expected (prolly due to reviews going on about gratuitous violence), but it held my attention and captured alot of the appeal the first movie and comics have for me.

If you're expecting a goofy cheese-fest, akin to the 1987 cartoon (which I think is what most of the reviewers that bashed it expected), you prolly won't like it. But if you're ready for a serious take on the franchise, this movie delivers.

Saw 2

Is there really any point reviewing it?

Event Horizon

Shorter and more simplistic than I remember it but still a pretty creepy film, essentially 'The Shining' in space.

Saw 3

I liked the way the story line was. It was really confussing so if you miss 5 min. of it, you will be lost for the rest of the movie. (It also helps if you've seen the other two) I really liked the way the graphics were. Everything looked pretty close to real, and it had a very unexpected ending.

The Last Kiss.

I picked this up for just over four dollars at the video store, because Zach Braff hasn't disappointed me yet. ( don't start with all the 'yada yada, Garden State sucked, indie losers, emo kids, Catcher in the Rye' stuff; I've heard it. ) But I went into the film expecting an average romantic comedy, and I was completely floored with what came out of it. Definitely not a movie to go into if you're expecting an hour and a half of that witty-esque Braff humor you're used to. This is more drama than anything, but most of the acting was excellent. The plot was pretty simple ( man with girlfriend meets other girl; catastrophe ensues ) and maybe it's not a movie that you'd watch over and over again, but I liked it in the end.

8/10.

Saw 300 again...I swear that bootleg rocks.
Anyway, that movie is just plain great. I love the characters and the acting isn't bleh like reviews have said. I believed. It made me believe. I can see it again and again and for once a movie can entertain me.
(..besides the original The Crow movie..)..

Ok, I actually went and watched Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Loved it as a kid ya know. Anyway I really liked it. The story wasn't that great, reminded me of the old cartoons with crazy other dimesions going on. Yet it took me back to my childhood, and Michelangelo's jokes even made me laugh at times. Hope people act like it is just a kids movie and not see it cause I loved it. My wife (who has never seen anything TMNT) even liked it.

The characters were fun, the story was medicore, and the fighting was pretty cool. If your a TMNT fan you should see it in theatres. Otherwise everyone else may want to wait to rent it if your even interested.

School for Scoundrels

The story is basically set up in the trailer. It doesn't really extend to anything beyond that but I'm guessing that most people know what to expect when they go see this anyway due to the director being responsible for Old School and Road Trip.

I wouldn't say it's a laugh riot but it does provide a decent amount of laughs, albeit fairly predictable ones. Again, the trailer will show you what sort of vibe the humour has.

Billy Bob is great as Mr P, a seemingly helpful teacher who turns out to be nothing more than a manipulator of the weak willed, and Michael Clarke Duncan is equally awesome playing his muscle bound accomplice. Ben Stiller comes in late in the film and gives a really great performance too, even with his limited screentime. The thing is that the film really relies on Heder as the lead and he still can't seem to shake of the Napoleon Dynamite character. There's numerous times when I was expecting "Gosh" to follow some of his lines. It's a shame as if Napoleon hadn't been made then he does pull off the loser type character pretty well.
