If you went to the Cinema, picked up a DVD or film, or watched it on TV etc how would you rate the last movie you saw and would you recommend it to others? How was the plot and acting? What made the movie work or how did it fail?

Underworld
In my opinion, the best vampire movie to come out in a long while. I havn't watched Evolution yet, but i intend to, even if i've heard that it isn't as good as the first one. And Kate Beckinsale is HOT The only thing i don't like about it is some of the special effects. Like when the lycans is running in the walls...Don't look good at all.

I have to say TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE: THE BEGINNINGS is a very well done horror flick. You already know what your getting yourself into and then some but this time around things are different. Characters were develop in such a manner that you feel for them. (Unlike previous entries.)
It goes deep and its powerful. I hated how they destroy this movie with such a dissapointing ending. Not for what happen but for what was done. It could've been better. It just didn't make any sense. |

The Departed.
Decided to skip class and watch it in honor of Scorsese finally getting what he deserved. I must say it is and will be one of the best and should be added onto the list of required viewing and required standard for crime movies.

to put simply, the movie was a good one. the story can be confusing to some, but that is made up by the aciton scenes and crazy ass characters. i give the movie two thumbs up, if you havent seen it, go out and watch this one you wont regret it. |

Just watched A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints with Robert Downey Jr. and Shia Lebouf. It was good, I was really glad to see that Shia Lebouf was capable of tackling such a serious part. He owned in it. It was a bit unnerving to hear him speaking lines like "I wanna **** you" and "I'm gonna lick your pussy". But, that kind of dialogue is genuine so I can't really complain.

Extremely dissapointing, I had high hopes for this movie... it kept building up and building up to lead to some great ephiphany.... then just ended with absolutely no point of the movie being explained. It sucked. (and no I am not saying that because I didn't "understand" the movie, I watch a lot of movies, and I usually like this type of movie, but it missed the target by a long shot) |

the Last House On the Left
I was never a big Wes Craven fan and I probably never will, But his horror debut was great, it had a cool sleazy 70's atmosphere to it. the last part of the movie is awesome. |

Saw, Zodiac last night and it was pretty amazing. Probably the first really great movie this year. As Dave said, towards the middle it slows down a tad, but only for about 30 minutes, which isn't much considering the film is nearly 3 hours. Aside from that slight hiccup the movie kept me entertained the entire time.
Robert Downey Jr., Jake Gyllenhaal, and Mark Ruffalo were all excellent. And I'd definitely say that Jake Gyllenhaal has cemented himself as one of the top A-list actors around at the moment. Hopefully Mark Ruffalo can avoid any more romantic comedy roles for the time being and stick to more serious fare such as this. I definitely recommend this film. It's too bad that 300 is coming out next weekend and is most likely going to just gobble all the other movies up in it's wake. But I can't wait for it. |
