Default Oscar Night

So now the academy has chosen thier picks for this year. The Departed took home four oscars, including Best Director and Best picture. So do you agree with their picks?

Here's a list of the winners in case you didn't get to see it. http://movies.msn.com/movies/oscars2...slist?GT1=9075

I myself am glad to hear that Scorsese finally got the Best Director that had been long over due and The Departed got Best Picture. Learning that it took four oscars made my day.

Scorsese should have gotten at least one Oscar earlier. So it was about time that he got one.

QFT.

I'm also pleased about An Inconvenient Truth winning Best Documentary, but there wasn't really any doubt that it would.

I didn't mind Scorsese winning Best Director, though I didn't think The Departed deserved Best Picture. It was good, but not THAT good.

I'm glad that Scorsese finally got that Oscar he should have won way before now, out of all his nominated movies The Departed was possibly one of the weaker ones.

The Departed was a great movie. I'm also very pleased that Forest Whitaker won Best Actor for "Last King of Scotland", which was incredible film.

I was sad to see that Children of Men didn't win anything. That was my favorite of 2006.

I was also dissapointed that Children Of Men didnt win anything, i thought for sure they had Cinematography. I am happy Pan's Labrinth got a bunch of oscars, and glad the old guy in Little Miss Sunshine got best supporting actor.

For the most part, I think they made the right decisions. The Departed was definitely the way to go with best director and best picture. It's a shame it took so long, but better late then never seeing as how old he's getting. Scorsese has consistently been one of the best directors in Hollywood, and I'm happy for him.

Never found the Oscar awards make any sense in general. A lot of pretty average movies get lots of awards and some of the best movies don't get much or even nothing.
