Silent Hill movie?

Did anyone else think that Silent Hill was a really cool movie. I know it didn't follow the plot exactlly of the games, but then again, the plots of the games are kind of hard to put in a movie in that limited amount of time.

it sucked a bit.

it was a good attempt at transferring a video game into a film, but i think they should've gone the whole hog and made it as gory and as shocking as possible. my mother had no problem with silent hill and she can't even watch terminator 2.

Yeah but don't u think over the top gore can ruin a movie like saw 3 for example?

Perhaps if it wasn't done by Christopher Gans it would be much better.The fog effects are great,almost like in the game but the rest of the atmosphere isn't visible in the movie.I wasn't even scared for a second,but as a hardcore fan of SH serial I watched it twice in the same day.My father liked it

I liked saw 3...I can't say what exactly was wrong with Silent Hill (movie) but there was just something missing throughout the movie.

it was a great film but had a few problems... like the way they burned the cop... people dont burn like that! they burst into flames not smoulder! and there was another couple of things i cant think of off the top of my head but other wise it was a good film. a little bad continuity between a few scenes but you always get that!

and ive never played the games

its a good film its based off the game Silent Hill, ive never played the game but its a basic zombie flick! theres a little girl thats evil or so we think, and is being controlled by an evil power and her n her mum go to silent hill which is abandoned and she loses her daughter n its about her findin her and all the creepy things that go on in silent hill. its an alternate reality basically... good but like i said, theres the odd continuity flaw.

Then again, I've seen better.

It did a decent job of being faithful to its source, and of presenting its ideas intelligently, but it was left down by someone extremely hammy acting in places, and the special effects in some scenes really killed the suspense because they were so cheaply done in places, but...

Pyramid Head.

There is one major complaint I have with the Silent Hill movie... they don't explain how Alessa got the powers she had to manipulate everything she does. I know in the game she's the incarnation of the demon Samael, but they don't even mention that in the movie. If you ONLY watch the movie (like my friend Eddie) then all you know is Alessa was burned alive, is still alive, but SOMEHOW has the power to control the town, plunge it into a nightmare world, create creatures of darkness, and create several incarnations of herself.
