300, the movie review

Yeah I know I already made a thread about this but cba about going to find it. This one will be for those who watched it and what they thought.

It's definitely a movie worth seeing. The only thing I didn't like is the briefness of some of the scenes in it at certain points that could have been carried out longer but definitely good.

the film already spanned 2 hours, and none of it really felt lacking considering the nature of its source.
it is definitely worth any hype you may have heard though. i had a terrible seat and i still enjoyed it thoroughly.

lol, the only mistake you can possibly make with this movie is watching it in hopes that it's at least a slightly historical depiction. it's not supposed to be, so it's foolish to judge it because of that.

Very true.. Best description that can be given is that it's a mythological take on the event. So people getting up in arms about the Persians having demonic powers or whatever is pretty stupid. No one's claiming that this is how it happened. In fact, I've not seen one trailer or commercial that even mentions that 300 Spartans really did take on a Persian fleet consisting of 20,000-1,000,000 soldiers (depending on who's telling the tale). All they mention is that it was inspired by Frank Miller's graphic novel.

Frank Millers graphic novel based on a historical event but for crying out loud it's a graphic novel, it's supposed to have some zazz to it. The word "retard" came to my mind every time I read those reviews that were angry that the persians were viewed in a bad light.

Besides most people who watch the movies based off of comic books are more concerned if the movie stays true to the graphic novel rather than historical accuracy.

I was gonna go see it because it looked pretty kick ass, not to mention the graphics were pretty good from the previews. I really want to see it whenever I get a chance.

I loved it. It felt like it dragged in places, but that may be due to the lack of sleep I had. Dialog was witty and almost inspiring, despite being a little cheesy at times. The battles were far better than most so-called "epics". The story is simple, but the drama of it is well played. It met my expectations and then some. Now hopefully, Snyder can do similar justice to "The Watchmen".

Indeed the action was epic. I felt like once it pulled you in, it kept you in and was unforgiving, I loved how there had to have been atleast ten minutes of complete dismemberments.

I don't mind what anyone says. This film was excellence. I'm definitely buying it on DVD when it's released.

That I do agree with. At some points things were being drawn out and then BAM, they were over.

I'd give it a 3.5/4 for that reason and because a little bit of the dialogue was kind of corny for me. But it was still the best damn movie to come out this year so far, with Pan's Labrynth in a close second.

I watched this movie last night in theatres. Absolutely beautiful, I don't think I've ever seen a movie so well done, regardless of how gorey it's nature really was.

Overall, it's a movie I will definitely buy and watch multiple times if I have the time to kill.

I was surprised to find that I enjoyed it, can't beat a good ol' fight. Not much there in terms of solid plotlines but that isn't what it was meant to be so...much betetr than I thought it would be I have to say.

Well, the first time i watched the movie I watched it in the Imax and that was fecking awesome. The second time I watched in the regular theatre and I was kind of disapointed by qualitly. But, my point is I liked it so much i watched twice. I loved the fight scenes and the hot half naked men. ^_^ =P
