Default Children of Men

I went and saw this movie a few weeks ago, I had been looking forward to it since I saw the previews.

I really enjoyed it, I found the cinematography in it so amazing, it grabs ahold of your attention and doesn't let go for the entire movie. My favorite scenes were definately those really long continous scenes, the first one in the car and the second one in the city while its under attack. They're really incredible scenes, make you feel like you're right in the action more than any movie ive seen before.

The story was really incredible too, I like the way it ended although a lot of people complain about that part.

Thoughts?

I have the DVD at home but still haven't watched it, but when I saw the advert for it I thought that it looked really good, and Jak doesn't think that about many films .

Definitely the best film I've seen of the year. (Though I'm sure Pan's Labyrinth will contest tomorrow) The war scenes were breath taking.

This movie was amazing and my pick for best of 2006, along with Little Miss Sunshine. This movie was incredibly moving, and I believe it's socially important, that is: people need to see it, and not just for entertainment. Dave is right. The long extended shots are breathtaking. Cuaron is a visionary filmmaker. I cried when Theo and Kee were carrying the baby out of the battered building.

That's right. I cried. And I'm not ashamed, either.

Jak, the fact that you would pirate art like this is simply astounding in the worst possible way. I shouldn't be surprised, though.

Technically, I didn't pirate it, my step father did so I'm in the clear . I'll make it priority to watch this when I get home .

Children of Men was great. It felt so real. For some reason it's not hard to imagine our world going to hell like this. And the story is so imaginative but incredibly realistic. I didn't ever have a hard time believing any of this was too much of a stretch. I also thought it had AMAZING performances. Clive Owen really has what it takes to be a huuuuge star. This is the first time I ever saw him in a main leading role. It was good, so good. From the start it had tremendous energy. Wonderfully suspenceful and dramatic.

definitely a brilliant movie on it's own. I too enjoyed the cinematography and I thought it was beautiful how everything just stopped as they carried the baby out of the building with everyone either just staring or showing signs of prayer then the action began again when someone fired a rocket launcher at the tank. I thought it did end a little anti climactically and abrubtly but all in all a brilliant and well done film. The fact that the academy didn't give it the attention it deserved was just wrong.

Agree totally - excellent film. I loved the gritty british-ness and the camera work was excellent (that scene in the car done in one long shot - fantastic).

It was action, but not Jerry Bruckheimer OMG over the top action, and it really worked.

And Clive Owen is just looooovely.
