I picked this up today and all I can say is, woah. I loved Ryan Reynolds in this. As for the movie itself.
I loved how they opened it up. Excellent way to start a mafia/snitch movie. I didn't like the fact that Ben Afleck had to die so quickly after the opening. I loved the rednecks and I thought it kinda sucked that they had to die like that. I liked how they alluded to how the assassins that were caught or dying would escape and I loved the twist ending.
So what did you like or not like about it?

Sorry Rob, but I have to disagree. I thought Smokin' Aces was tripe. It was, in my humble opinion, one of the most poorly conceived products ever green-lit for public consumption.
Strangely enough, the film had a lot of good ideas floating around aimlessly within the picture, but they all added up to absolutely nothing. It felt like there were pieces of other good movies that had somehow managed to get trapped inside Smokin' Aces. How it happened, I'll never know. I cannot recommend this film. :/ |
