Just before I start, sorry if you see this cross-posted with other forums, particularly on VGC Forums, it is just an essential part of my Media Studies coursework, and sorry for the poor colorbar - it made the thread more interesting.

Briefly, I decided to study into Women & Film and make my own hypothesis question of which you can see at the top of this thread. This project is to assume that in Hollywood, any Actor male or female is assumed 'old' over the age of 40. The project itself it consisted of Primary and Secondary research, of which the Primary includes Questionnaires, Focus Groups, Interviews and posting on Message Boards. Admittedly, I haven't been posting here for long (2 days as of the original starting date of this thread), but it would still help tremendously if you could feed me your views.

Basically, I want you to just tell me your views on Older Female Actress in Hollywood, this does include TV Shows, the Film Industry and anything else affiliated with Hollywood. This does not include Older Actresses outside of Hollywood, but perhaps still in America for comparison's sake, such as Helen Mirren, Judi Dench, Julie Walters who etc.

If you find you have no real opinion or can't put your thoughts into words, you can always use some of the following for inviting thoughts and input:

• Can you name any Actresses over 40?
• What was the last Hollywood Movie you saw with a present Older Actress?
• Do you agree with the Hypothesis? Why?
• Has Hollywood changed in recent years with treatment of Older Actresses?
• Does Hollywood only reflect what we, the consumer, want from movies, or do Hollywood tell us what we want?
• Do you believe that sexual desire is the only attraction in Older Actresses in modern times?
• Do you think that Older Actresses are in any way sexy or appealing?
• Do you think that this example of age and beauty is at all reflective on women universally?

Feel free to argue and debate with other members, it would be nice to see how people's opinions can develop, and also feel free to join in the discussion at any time if this thread gets in any way large.

Finally, even though your opinions will be Anonymous in my findings, if you don't want your personal opinion to be published, feel free to say and I will omit it when I record the findings.
