I dont know whether to be happy or sad about this but news that Spaceballs will be turned into a 13 part animated series to air on G4. Apparently it will be spoofing other films as well as Star Wars, such as Harry Potter, Terminator and Pirates of the Caribbean. The pilot will focus on the Spaceballs story though.

Actually the more i type, the more its seems such a poor concept which will probably diminish the awesomeness of the original film.

To be honest, anything we quote from the film will probably end up a lot better than this new spin on it. Hopefully ill be pleasantly surprised.

Well, of course, they did set up 'space balls the animated series' in the actual movie with Yogurt's merchandising bit, I only fear that without Mel Brook's genius it will be a pale translucent shadow of the hilarity.

ehhh.... won't be the same. spaceballs is like a classic example of pure american comedy. I loved it! but this new animated stuff? not so sure about it.
