Default Favorite British Comedies

I've just recently started watching BBC America here on TV, and I have to say, I really love all the British comedies. I think they are a lot better and well made than most of the crap made here in America.

So far I'm loving Green Wing and Spaced! Hope to watch more though soon, it takes forever for them to air them here though.

Not too much of a Green Wing fan (I think that Scrubs is more entertaining), Spaced however is probably my favourite comedy series of all time. Other UK comedies I love watching are Red Dwarf, Only Fools and Horses, Black Books, Blackadder and Fawlty Towers.

Spaced! and the Green Wing are both awesome.

i'd also recommend: The Office (original is still best), Bottom, Red Dwarf, The Smoking Room, Little Britain, The Fast Show, Blackadder and are you being served? xD

The original The Office is pretty funny, though it's hard to get some of the humour in the jokes if you don't really ever watch British TV. D;a

Ummmh Litttle Britan and Black adder are great !!!

I feel ashamed to know that I forgot Monty Python. Keeping Up Appearances was another of my faves when I was younger too, godammit most UK comedies are classics.

Shame on me for not putting that in my original post. Of course, Monty Python is just classic.

God: Oh, don't grovel ... do get up! If there's one thing I can't stand, it's people groveling!
[Arthur and company get up]
Arthur: Sorry.
God: And don't apologize. Every time I try to talk to someone it's "Sorry" this and "Forgive me" that and "I'm not worthy" and ... What are you doing now?
Arthur: I'm averting my eyes, Lord.
God: Well, don't. I really don't know where all this got started. It's like those miserable Psalms. They're so depressing. Now knock it off.

Oh God, where do I start?

Monty Python
The Mighty Boosh (ORGASM)
The Fast Show
Green Wing
The Day Today
Brass Eye
Shameless (more of a comedy drama, but still hilarious)
Father Ted
Black Books
Red Dwarf
Black Adder
The Smoking Room
Spaced
15 Storeys High
The Vicar of Dibley
The League of Gentlemen
Top Buzzer

I know I'm forgetting some.

as you can see, I can't get enough of Brit comedy. xD

I like most of what other's have listed already, in no particular order

Yes, Minister (and Yes, Prime Minister)
Keeping Up Appearances
Monty Python (I really want to see Spamalot)
Red Dwarf
Father Ted
Fawlty Towers
Jeeves and Wooster
The Thin Blue Line
Blacks Books

Shameless, Black Adder, Monty Python, Red Dwarf and Fawlty Towers are some classics I could watch all day long. I feel that Johnny Vegas' new star role in Benidorm could prove to be something added to the list at a later date, also.

I must mention The Young Ones and Extras also.

Gervais is win. It's just a shame that the americans are ruining The Office
