Pan's Labyrinth was special because it was horrifying on so many levels. The reality side of it was much more terrifying than the main character's strange fantasy world. But, overall, I found it was extremely taut thriller and a very heavily thought out dramatic piece. I loved it.

I've seen promotional material for this and pretty much had an erection for ten days afterwards. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear as though the movie's going to air at my local cinema, which is a real pain in the arse.

Incredible movie. A friend made me go see it, I didn't know anything about it before I went, and I especially didnt know the entire movie was in Spanish, but it was really an amazing movie. I found the contrasts between the real world and the fantasy world very harsh and brilliant.
I forgot I was watching a Spanish film like 15 minutes in, its very very well done. |
