I'm not sure how this one is going to turn out. It seems to be teetering on the edge of psychological thriller and horror. I want to like this film and hope it receives positive reviews; but I also hope it doesn't try to play up a horror angle and explain the whole meaning behind the number 23, but instead concentrates on how the mystery is driving Carrey's character mad.

Seeing as how Carrey has really flexed his dramatic muscles in the past with films like The Truman Show, Man on the Moon, and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, so long as this film can stay on it's feet, I'm somewhat anxious to see how it fares.

I hope it turns out like a beautiful mind. It sort of looked like it was going that way from the trailer I saw of it. I dunno, the thing is, I like Jim Carey, but it was a really awful trailer so I'll try not to let that hold it against it.

This intriguing little engima gets a silver touch on the Big Screen. It's a lovely little movie with enough pull to keep me in my seat but it lacked the depth the concept itself could have delivered on. A flurry of action, a dash of romance and a totally torturous story made for a decent move night. Not something I'd return to rent but worth the cash I passed over for it. :P
