Default Favourite comedian.

Well what is your Fav Comedian. Mine is Ricky Gervais. If you have never watched him in anything and your well educated on Political events and General Knowlege and your not easily offended i suggest you watch him.

I love him because he is politically incorrect but at the same time can sometimes bring up some rather interesting and thoughtful ideas.

To be honest I find Ricky Gervais extremely annoying, his wit is repetitive and pedantic and the episode of ‘The Simpsons’ which he wrote I personally though was terrible.
I much prefer Bill Hicks as a comedian, despite the fact that he died some years ago his comedy still remains strong and poignant today.
It’s not merely his longevity that I think makes him a good comedian, his lines were delivered flawlessly and he was good and pointing out the flaws in the way people thought and acted long before that became the comedic norm.

I like Dane Cook and Denis Leary. Both of them are hilarious. I also Like Razor Ramon Sumitani. For those of you who know who he is, you score points, for those of you who don't know him, you lose out. He's a riot.

Mitch Hedberg even though he's been dead for almost two years and Stephen Lynch. His songs are hilarious.

I used to be big on Dane Cook, but honestly, he's gotten kind of stale. I know all his jokes.

Right now, two of my favorites are Jim Gaffigan and Demetri Martin. Martin is just completely ridiculously random, and Jim Gaffigan has a style of delivery that is just hysterical.

Martin's the myspacers comedian. No doubt that he's good but it's sort of the group that I could see him affiliate with the most. Agreed that Gaffigan is hilarious aswell

Bill Bailey, Billy Connolly and Lee Evans are my favourite stand-up comedians. Rick Gervais' stand-up I thought was extremelly tedious and his style of humour isn't suited to it, isn't as bad as some like Russell Brand and Peter Kay but he's not worth the hype.

I didnt think the Russell Brand live DVD was all that bad to be honest, obviously he is rather over the top but it was watchable. It would have been better if he didnt stick on one point for so long.

Addition to the list of Comedians i like would be The Mighty Boosh duo Julian Barrat and Noel Feiling. I dont think either of them are all that great on their own but they play of each other well. Noel seems to be able to do that with anyone though as we saw in Big Fat Quiz of the Year with Brand and on Nevermind the Buzzcocks the other night.

Did anyone catch the ep of Nevermind the Buzzcocks - That Towers of London Guy is such a complete dick.

I do, also, quite like Denis Leary despite the accusations of outright theft of material from Hicks.

I've got to go along the lines of Lee Evans, Adam Sandler and I'm even going to include Peter Kay, especially his live in Blackpool, his first release.

I find Chris Rock hillarious and although he aint a comedian I think Kevin Smith is one of the funniest men alive.

I think Bill Hicks is over-rated. if he wasn't dead people wouldn't remember him.

my favourite comedians are Lee Evans, Jimmy Carr, Ricky Gervais, Jack Dee, Rik Mayall and Billy Connolly.

I saw Jimmy Carr live in Swansea last year, he was hilarious.

For me it's nothing to do with the fact that he's dead. The fact that he never sold out is a big plus, as is all his commentary on politics and religion.

Goat Boy. There's not much I can say about the creation of that character other than it was pure ****ed up genius. Bill Hicks owned religion, he owned American politics. They were his bitches.

Richard Hall is another of my favorite American comedians, if we're talking British comedians then it would have to be Bill Bailey. He's always at his best on Never Mind The Buzzcocks during the guess the song segments, plus he can make you laugh by saying nothing.

Bill Bailey and Eddy Izzard are two of my favorite stand-up comedians, Stephen Fry and Jessica Stevenson are probably my favorite general comedians, and Richard Curtis is my favorite comedy writer.

One other one I should add to the list that needs to be added. Richard Pryor. There are a few "great comedians" out there but even fewer legends like him out there.
