i have just about all of them on the genesis except one or two; 1, 2, 3, knuckles and spinball.
and dreamcast: sonic adventure one and two.

but the series hasnt been all that good after sonic adventure 2; Riders, Heroes,and 360/PS3 version werent that good. only good one recently was the Wii version which was pretty good so far for what ive heard.

i'd like to buy the compilation games they have for gamecube and ps2 so i can have most fo the games all in one.

Sonic 3 connected the Sonic and Knucles game (aks Sonic 3 and Knucles) is my favorite, next is Sonic Adventture for Dreamcast.

what about Sonic CD? anyone play that. ive never gotten the chance to play that. heard it was good.

Sonic back in the day on the Mega Drive was one of my favourite game series until SEGA ****ed it up with ****ty 3D games and filling the series with Linkin Park/emo inspired Sonic clones, only the recent GBA games and Sonic Dash are any good. Anyone who thinks that any Sonic game from Sonic Adventure onwards is good whatsoever should be shot.

Great series, but it sadly went down the bucket when it decided to go all 3D on.

Every so ofte, it's possibly to get some sort of joy out of the 3D ones, when the controls behave the way they should and the speed / adrenalin rush hits you. Of course, five seconds later, the camera decides to be a stubborn little bitch, and you proceed to fall to your doom, for the 10th time in a row.

The only decent games for the series since then have been Sonic Rush for the DS and the recent Wii outing.

The actual Sonic levels where it was on-rails action were passable and if this was how the whole game played I wouldn't be so critical of it as I am. But making me play as characters I don't want to in the first place (It's a Sonic game afterall) and giving me non-Sonic gameplay (Like fishing and dull treasure hunting) coupled with truly disturbing moments (The ending of Sonic of the 360 and PS3) just shows me that SEGA don't know what the **** they are doing.

true. i love the series up till Sonic Adventure. then series died after Sonic Adventure and the Dreamcast retired in my opinion.

Sega has gone downhill since the dreamcast died, so has their trademark series. \:

However, a few of the new ones are good, that's probably only Secret Rings and Dash.

I've heard that Sonic The Hedgehog(the new one)(ots just called sonic the hedgehog) has really long loading times but other than that its pretty good from what I've heard!

yea, ive heard about the loading times. they are long for what ive heard, which ruins part of the game. that and ive heard the camera is pretty bad too.

but visually it looks good. i wish there was a demo of the game so i can try it out instead of taking a gamble wether or not to buy it.

there has been a demo of the new one on the 360 for a long time, and that's what made me decide not to get a game i would have otherwise expected to love. the control was terrible, and it felt like a step backwards from the Adventure series, which i did enjoy. i've always loved the feel and sheer scope of the environments, and the thought of it on a next gen system seemed great, but it just didn't feel nearly as effortless and smooth as i made it in the previous games.
speaking of which, i did own every single Sonic related title for the Genesis and 32X, but i never tried the Saturn.

Sonic was great, but I lost interest after the 3-D era. However, Sonic and the Secret Rings for the Wii does look promising. I've already heard good things about it.

I thought it was funny, and loved it when I was a kid. Not that I actually remember what happened in the show, or have watched it since.

On another note, ever Sonic game since the Sega Genesis has sucked. End of story.

To be fair though there wasn't very much to ruin in the first place.

Knuckles' final boss against the Super Mecha Sonic is awesome, great music too! Incidentally, has anyone here ever played the Knuckles Chaotix game?
