Devil May Cry Anime

Famitsu report, via QJ.NET, that an anime based on Devil May Cry will begin airing on June 14th. The anime has Dante as the lead, protecting a young girl named Patty from demonic forces. 12 episodes the anime will run for apparently and will be produced by Madhouse, who were responsible for the mid 90s anime version of Street Fighter and animation for Paranoia Agent.

I think there has been two episodes released so far. Havent got round to watching the first one yet as Darker than Black has caught my attention at the moment!

There's probably a better version somewhere out there, but I stumbled across this the other night. I've been meaning to show it to Tyler, since I know how excited he gets when his favorite games spawn their own manga/anime.

I've seen episode #1 it was great. Some parts were very dark. But it was good! I'm just checking if #2 has been English subbed.

The problem I'm having with the anime is that no really great fansubbing group has picked it up yet. I was excited to learn Kuro Hana was doing it, but they've been slow/behind in all the releases. And all the others I've found that were released within a few days of the RAW have stupid little grammatical errors that should've been fixed before the release. The subbing doesn't flow.

<<" But it's a pretty interesting anime, I'll give you that. I like watching it, and the soudtrack to it is amazing...

Great sound track. But the subbing is a bit to be desired. The site I watched it says it's now licensed by ADV Films... I honestly doubt it.. since it's just begun playing in Japan... So the natural switch to You Tube has begun.. Anyone find a good version of #4 yet? All I find is three parters that have crappy subbing.

I watched the opening installment a week or so back on tv-links. Liked it, but didn't follow up on it. I should know better than to judge such a thing on the first episode, but it left me a bit stumped for words.

I'll probably catch up on the rest some other time, but I'm hoping for some awesome fight scenes eventually.

Well, Episode 2 had a sweet motorcycle chase battle with a demon like the Enigma enemy from the third game. I found it fast paced but it was cool and to have Lady there fighting as well was cool.

Oh, they're actually intending on using the main characters? Nice. Though I hope they don't try to introduce a number of them in a short space of time...

Ah well. As long as they're retaining some level of similarity to the game's authenticity and characterization, I'm fine with it.

Yeah, the anime happens right after #1 or between #3 and #1.. Since they show both Lady and Trish in the opening credits. So seeing Vergil is probably not going to happen.
