Default Subbed or Dubbed?

There are different ways to watch anime with the various options available for the anime viewer. However i was curious as to what your preferences were for watching anime. Do you like Subbed or Dubbed versions? Does dubbing diminish the anime you watch or does it actually add to the viewing? What animes work with dubbing in your opinion? Or is Subbed the way for you- the way it was meant to be?

Personally I prefer to watch things in their original language, regardless of whether it's an anime or just a foreign film. I don't have problems with reading subtitles and watching the action at the same time and I think it's nice to be able to hear the original voice acting.

Some dubs turn out okay, but on a whole, I prefer subs.

I've only ever seen a couple of dubs that were done well. Subbed all the way.

Subbed! Not only do English VAs hardly ever catch the same feel as the original seiyuu's, but I've seen cases of horrible pronunciation which drives me up a wall.

Animation: Dubbed unless the dub is so mind numbingly horrible as to detract from the film.

Live Action: Subbed

Don't really care. There are some horrible dubs but then some sound even worse in their original language (Saikano and Advent Children come to mind). I pick and change based on what's good.

Generally subbed though.

Subbed. I find that a majority of the time, the Japanese voices go much better than the English voices.

Dude, when a chick screams "eat **** and die" while shooting rockets out of her motorcycle, I don't care how far removed from the original line it is, it's awesome.

I have to say, without the wonders of dubbing we probably wouldn't have this either.

But I still remain unconvinced that dubbing is good for anything other than lulz.

I prefer films captioned if they're in a different language. No cheesy voice overs.

Subbed. The character's original intents and actions are lost through Voice when dubbed. It just isn't the same.

Well it depends. If I saw the anime series in English first I would prefer just dubbed but if I saw it in subbed form first, then definitely subbed.

I feel subbed as in Japanese dialogue and English subtitles are alot better because you are watching the original. I don't go out of my way to watch dubbed stuff, I prefer subbed.

I definitely prefer my anime with subtitles, dubbed in general is terrible! I can’t stand listening to the annoying American voices of adults who are supposed to be dubbing the voice of a ten year old. Furthermore I can’t stand watching the characters mouths move and yet the audio is off like is typical with dubbing.

I enjoy most dubbed anime. I sometimes find it better then the original Japanese because I don't feel it fits the character as well as it could. There are sometimes where I find it the other way around because the dubbed version is just so mind-blowingly horrible.
