In general I prefer manga over anime. It's more portable, so I can easily take it wherever I go, the action moves by quicker (good for certain series when half the episode of the anime is just basically two people staring each other down before a fight) and usually there are more details given in the manga as well.

That being said I do enjoy anime as well, it's nice to see the characters come to life.

Manga.

Probably because it leaves more to the imagination, doesn't take 10 Episodes for one battle, portable, and pretty. It's the Manga-ka's original intention, not Filler Arcs and distorted animals.

I've goota say Manga, I don't know what it is about anime I just feel that somethimes too much detail is missed out (Fruits Basket lost half the plot) and you can't really appreciate the artists skill. Manga also seems more deeper to me haha I must sound werid...

I think both have their advantages
I enjoy manga cuz you can really appreciate the artwork of the artist, whereas anime does not portray the artist's skills as much.

But I like anime because it is generally easier to sit down and watch tv than read a book. and the characters and story do appear more alive than in a manga.

having said that i think that there are some shows where anime is better (eg: FMA, i didnt like the manga of that) wheras the manga is better than the anime in some serieses (eg: Rurouni Kenshin, I didnt really like the anime, but i love the manga)

Manga is definitely the better form of media, but that said, Anime has its advantages too, such as when they delve into the back story of characters for an episode. You don't just get one or two pages of it, you get the whole episode dedicated to it, which means they can go into more detail.

Also, the fight scenes in anime (when they *finally* get going) are a lot more enjoyable. I like to be able to see the action as it happens and not just imagine what happens in between frames

Personally I like either. Anime is good in some occasions and the books as well. Though there are some cases where the anime is changed from the anime or doesn't complete the story line. Examples would be where they and an anime only character, such as Mio Hio in D.N.Angel and Fruits Basket. In Fruits Basket the anime is not completed and if you've never read the book you don't know what happens. That's how I judge anime. If you've never read the book, would you understand it? Then again, that's just me.

I have never read any manga which is probably a bad thing. I would really like to get a hold of Rurouni Kenshin in manga form as the TV show tended to deviate, especially at the end of it run, away from the manga.

So i suppose i prefer anime..xD

I'm too lazy to read manga.
