Default CoM... worth playing??

I have played both KH and KH2, but not CoM. Is it worth playing? I hear different thing from different people.

In my opinion, no.

I played for a grand total of 10mins, the repetitiveness and lack of creativity strangled me with boredom.

To find out what Organization XIII motives before Kingdom II and watch Sora first encounter with Namine'. Even get to challenge the other Members that you never had the chance to fight in KH-II. You also get to explore Castle Oblivion and even get the chance to play as Riku. Yet here's food for the brain.

Your a little late. I say don't buy it. It's already being remade for the PS2 or PS3 known as Final Mix. Play it in 3-D. No, not Final Mix II when you get to continue the story after you defeat Xemnas.

Only if you want to really want to understand the storyline that connects to KHII. I personally enjoyed it, sice I could PWN my friend at multiplayer.

I wouldnt bother, the lack of different levels make it very similar to playing KH1, and not to mention that the card system is a total pain in the ass.
Sure it's fun to fight against bosses from organization XIII that you didnt get to fight in KHII (which is stupid because it wouldve been much more fun fighting them in KHII than it was in KH:CoM, or so i believe anyway)

so yeah, don't bother...

Well I've never played CoM and I think I missed something when playing KH2. It all seemed a little odd.

I've been trying to convince myself to get this title for a long, but that I can't bring myself to do so. I have something of a love / hate relationship with this series. On one hand, it has some wonderful creative ideas and the first Kingdom Hearts game had such an innocent yet elaborate approach to it's storytelling.

Sadly, it seems the creators forget about this after the firsttitle, and just poluted the series with convoluted, needlessly overcomplicated plot-twists that failed to understand even the most basic rules of good story-telling.

Creating CoM in such a way that you *had* to play it in order to understand Kingdom Hearts II properly was a stupid, stupid move, but from what I've heard from reliable reviews it's not a terrible games, so I may give it a try someday. God knows when that'll be though.

Didn't miss anything? If your post is occurs to the gameplay, then I would be able to agree. But if you play KH2 after you've played KH1, and not played CoM, there's a lot of questions that come up while playing.

Like....

How did Sora wake up in the chamber thingey?
Who's the cutie with blonde hair?
What's a Nobody?
Why are Sora's clothes small? xD
Why didn't I get to fight those other dudes from Organization XIII?
Who is DiZ?

and many more questions. So if you don't play it and play KH2, you're pretty much going to have to gap the bridges yourself.

Any way to make money babe. The game was fun to play (as long as I was Riku). I reccomend playing just because.

In my opinion and experience - no. It was quite weird, yet unique, with the whole card system.

But in terms of story-wise, there's nothing you can't pick up from some gaming site source or another.

But interacting with the game is so much more fun than reading a boring page of content, Hydro.:P

The japanese version on PS2 is better than the GBA version. Way better if you ask me.

Yup and it's way better than that crappy GBA multiplayer. Try to order one and if you can't then at least look at a video of it on youtube .

Is it just me who finds CoM really difficult? I just CAN'T defeat Riku after the Destiny Islands.
The game is alright.. bit repetitive etc but the slight storyline is enough to keep it going, I wanted to complete it before I played Kingdom Hearts 2 but gave up... that was a year ago lol!

since the PS2 version of CoM probably wont come out anywhere outside of Japan, yes playing the GBA version is worth it. You just can't skip CoM if you want to really understand the whole storyline. but i agree, the card system was a pain in the rear.

i hate it when a series has its games on different consoles

I enjoyed playing Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories quite a lot. The card system was very interesting and the plot was pretty good as well. If you really liked the stories of Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts 2, then you should buy it.
