You both should play it, it's very fun. If you lose, your girlfriend gets killed.
But each character can make different story endings, The alien mother keeps killing me up to this day xD

I love games with multiple endings...but If I play this you have to play IX and the world ends with you, Terra...

In the spirit of experientialism, I'd say everyone should play every game so they can discern for themselves which are great and which aren't, but unfortunately that isn't feasibly attainable.
