LOTR is excellent in all aspects of literature except narration. Sure, the settings are beautiful, but it shouldn't take half the book to describe them. Sure, the history and plot is amazing, but it shouldn't take ten pages to recount a song. The movies were good enough for you not to read the books, even if they left out a few things and overdramatized others.

Holy crap this book was like listening to the same WW2 stories over and over or like watching the Telly tubbies early in the morning >.> I like The Hobbit but Lord Of The Rings was and still is Bunk.
