Wow, I like old literature books as well. Kiddish, I know, but I like the story about Lochinvar by Sir Walter Scott.

1:The Bride of Lammermoor
2:Ivanhoe
3:The Heart of Midlothian
4:Waverley
...Are some Walter Scott novels I love.

The last book I read was 'The robe of skulls', by vivian french. It's a great, dark kids fantasy novel with lots of interesting characters. I'd give it 4/5 because there were one or two short chapters in the book that were a bit boring, although the book acomplishes what It set out to acheive.

I'm reading 'Geisha' right now. I can't remember who it's wriktten by *too lazy to fish the book out of my school bag* but it's so interesting and if you're interested in japan, you'll love this book.

Hmmm...I thought Snicket had an excellent theme, but I think he dragged it out too long (towards the end I started not caring about whatever bizarre predicament the Baudelaire's were in--they were all the same, pretty much) and the style was too juvenile. I did like how he wrapped it up, however. Very tastefully done. Just would have liked it better if the subplots weren't so predictable and the style were more geared toward an adult audience...

I thought Memoirs of a Geisha was fine. John Williams did an astounding soundtrack as usual, and it was nice to see the two Crouching Tiger women together again. Would have been better with fighting, though...

No, it's a tottaly different book, even though I've seen Memoirs of a Geisha (the film), and loved it. This book isn't a story, it's more a study of the Geisha and their origins.

It tasteful for children though, which is the audience he adores to write for. Personally, I loved them. Especially the Count ^^

The movie was horribly cheesy, but the soundtrack was excellently done. Thomas Newman, who also did Finding Nemo and Wall-E...
