Let’s hear your most radical experiences!!
I must say that my Evanescence concert was definitely one of my most exhilarating ones thus far. It was in back in October when I had the pleasure to meet her and the band. I was pretty much in such a shock that I didn’t even blink or acted like one of those fan girls. All I did was indulge the whole experience as it came to me when the events unfolded that evening. I have pictures and even signed autographs from each of them (my precious ^^), I don’t even know how I was able to contend myself being in front of Amy or even more hug each of them!!! Yes, I did…and omg, it was the best night of my life. I still can’t even comprehend the magnitude of it, since I am one of their biggest fans, yet I was such a calm person when I met them and actually carried a brief conversation with them! Luke was the one that started though, with John ^^ and I was glad to have experienced such events with someone like him ^_~, who saw how behaved I was, lol. As well as protecting me from all the crazy people pushing and stuff; he was hit, squashed, pushed and tantalized from all the insane fans around us, we were both sore and tired, but it was sooooo worth it. So, what about yours? Any good stories care to share? ^^

I haven't been able to get to concerts regularly for ages, and I always seem not to hear about the good ones until they're all sold out. I've missed Mastodon, Converge, Between the Buried and Me, Isis and other bands of that calibre due to exactly that reason, and due to other factors I haven't been able to see Opeth, The Mars Volta or The Fall of Troy either.
That said, most of the bands I listen to these days don't even tour here because they're so obscure and appeal mainly to European markets. Or, in the case of groups like Deathspell Omega, don't tour at all. Amongst the best concerts I've seen would have to be Yes (both times), Elton John/Billy Joel, and Bob Dylan. There was also a Ringo Starr concert when I was nine or so where due to a seating mishap I managed to sit in the front row, and got to strum Todd Rundgren's guitar and sing in the microphone during one of the Beatles songs. That was rather great. I've also seen the three-piece Pink Floyd, but it was kind of **** because all the people behind us were standing up and I was like three and a half feet tall at the time. Bollocks. |

Hm, last good concert I went to would have to be... Story of The Year. I went with my sister and a couple of friends, and one thing made it the best. Some reason, people were moshing, and an explosion was heard and smoked blew up in the middle of the pit which made everyone start to cough.
Anyways, Taste of Chaos is coming here this month. So, I might go there only to see one of my favorite bands which'll probably be the best. |

I recently went to a concert at The Masquerade which is an old stone building that hosts a lot of popular rock concerts here. Mainly for bands up and coming, locals, but we have some popular people swing in from time to time. I saw the bands Esme', Kenotia, 1994, and Makeshifte.
It's an interesting place because they have an upstairs and downstairs. So 2 concerts can be going on simultaneously. They call the levels the Heavens and of course Hell. I couldn't find a picture of the Heavens but this is what the Hell portion looks like. ![]() Picture really doesn't do much justice because it's a lot more spacey irl but on the stairway to the right is the lounging area. You can smoke or drink at tables and over the rail to the left is where the main staging area is. So you literally inches from the band on stage. From the outside it looks pretty crummy but it's quite an amazing place. |

I go at least once a month to a concert. I've seen hundreds of bands live, and almost all of them played metal. Now I simply live, breath, **** metal and it's a music genre I'll always love and always listen to. Nothing beats the feel of your own long hair whirling on the greatest adrenaline boosting riffs, opr moshing on the sickest grooves, slams, etc.
The best concert I've ever been to was Antnhrax on Dynamo open Air 2005. It was, to me the best since old Anthrax is one of my favourite **** ever, and seeing them live reunited in the original line up with Joey Belladonna on vocals was basically a dream come true. That gig was fantastic. It reminded me of how much I loved to play 'Spreading The Disease' and Ámong The Living' when I was an 8 years old kid. It was spine chilling good. I moshed like I hadn't moshed ever before. |

I don't go to any local concerts or anything because I think they're ****e, to be honest.
I mean, I used to go to a good solid gig every month or so, but now, I go when there's something special on. I may check into a festival this year, I'm not sure yet. Concerts are overrated, for me now it's just an excuse to go into Manchester or Liverpool and have a few expensive drinks and a traditional subway. |

I saw the White Stripes play once, but had to avoid this girl who had "give me vodka" written on her head in lipstick. There was a lot of crazy girls at that one let me tell you.

Concerts have been a big part of my life since i was a child. my farther would take me to any we could get to and as i had grown up in Glastonbury, i went to the festival every year.
you would have thought then that i would have seen most of it all....the weirdset things that could happen at a concert. wel.....no...*laughs* I have to say that the Evanescence concert was the craziest concert ive been to. be it the fact that it was becasue it was in America and they all are crazy fighters...i dont know, but i got beaten up by a bunch of fan girls>.< i got squashed beyond pancake dimensions, but apart from that it was the one of the most amazing nights ever^-^ i loved it and was a great experience. what made it even more of a day was the hall it was held in^^ the hall ws old and totaly suited the music, its look was great. the best song played had to be imaginary but the whole gig was might as anything and sounded exactly like the CD. Amy didnt mess up at all and thats something not many bands can accomplish. to share this great experience of a day was magical, thankyou with all my heart<3 (plus i gots to try proper Chi town hot dogs*faints* hahahaha) yyeahh :P

Local bands can be awesome, such as Stealing O'Neal, a local band, has moved into the light as one of Australia's Up and coming bands. You can check out some of their music on www.myspace.com/stealingoneal.
The last concert I went to see would have been Killing Heidi in December I think and for some sick reason, I can't seem to re-call anything about it :\ But seriously, Ella Hooper has such an awesome raw live voice. Pfft I bet I got all fan girl on their asses.

The last concert I went to was Aerosmith. I thought they were very good and I had a great time at the concert. I hope they come back here in the next couple of years so I can see them again.

A review of tonight.
I went to the Thrash 'Till Burg fest, meaning five Thrash Metal bands. The New Dominion This band sounded exactky like At The Gates during Slaughter Of The Soul. meaning overdone melodic riffs, with the same kind of vocals but wiyh some retarded clean vocals thrown in. How original. This band was completely forgettable. Then the band Evile. that's the spirit. these young brits ( I ****en loved the accent of the singer, nice chap too ) really know the meaning of real thrash. Good performance, the right spirit, and old school as ****. They played Thrash as the bands did when they were still wearing diapers. Flesh made Sin As usual, a very good live act, but still can't grab my attention on record. Always doing a Slayer cover, and their thrash seems very inspired by old Slayer aswell. Another good live peromance by a good live band. Dead Head Dutch Thrash veterans. had some very memorable parts, but also some boring stuff. The singer/bassist has a nice sense of humour, and the stage presence was allright. Then the headliner Onslaught. This kicked ass. A very energetic show, while playing a few new songs, they don't forget to play their classics from the sick album The Force. I banged my head like a mother****er, and the atmosphere was simply great. All in all I had a great time, got drunked up pretty good, got myself a cool Onslaught shirt and met some new friends. Tune in next week for the next episode containing Cult Of Luna and Transmission0. ![]() |

Well, I've been plenty of gigs since 2003. I've seeeeeen...
2003 - Elton John @ Manchester M.E.N Arena 2004 - Elton John plus Orchestra @ Wembley Arena 2004 - The Darkness @ Wembley Arena 2005 - Velvet Revolver @ Brixton Academy 2005 - Queen + Paul Rodgers @ Cardiff International Arena 2005 - The Wireless Festival @ Hyde Park (featured Keane, Supergrass, James Blunt amongst others) 2005 - Live 8 @ Hyde Park (I was there!) 2005 - Queen + Paul Rodgers @ Hyde Park 2006 - The Darkness @ Alexandra Palace 2006 - Kaiser Chiefs @ Alexandra Palace (worst gig ever) 2006 - Billy Joel @ Wembley Arena 2006 - Guns N Roses @ Wembley Arena (fantastic gig, easily one of the best I've ever seen) That was the last gig I went to - this year I've got tickets to go and see Meat Loaf at Wembley Arena and Muse at Wembley Stadium. Personally can't wait to go and see them, they're gonna be absolutely amazing! I can't help but notice that Aaron saw EJ and BJ on a Face to Face tour. You absolute bastard - what songs were performed? What was the crowd like? etc etc |

I saw the Chili Peppers in Atlanta in October 06, and then again in Tampa in January 07. The Tampa concert was bloody amazing. (Also better because I only drove an hour to see them and not 10 hours so I wasn't as cranky or tired. And I was wasted.)
but to date, Ministry is the best concert of my life. |

They ran through most of the hits and it was pretty damn great. I don't remember stuff for sure because it was like four years ago, but Billy opened with "Scenes from an Italian Restaurant" and Elton with "Funeral for a Friend" iirc. And the crowd was fine, not so rowdy that you couldn't hear the music, but respectfully reverent I'd say. My only big complaint was the sound on Billy Joel's set was a bit ****. Too much distortion.

yesterday it was Watain, Legion Of The Damned, Celtic Frost and Kreator for me.
Watain played half an hour earlier, so I catched only the last song. Sounded pretty good what I could make out of it. Legion Of The Damned played very well Thrash Metal. The sound was really good, although maybe too loud. Not a band I'd like to see a lot of times, because it comes over as a band that gets boring pretty quick. All in all a good show. Celtic Frost was amazing. An incredible heavy sho The atmosphere was really dark, the new songs come over really good live, and the mega classics as Circle Of The Tyrants made a lot of heads bang. Kreator played a really good show. Only a few - points. The setlist could've been a LOT better. And they didn't seem as energic as two years ago. But during killer songs as Pleasure To Kill and Extreme Aggresions all hell broke loose. Mosh 'till death. Mille's anti rascism speech also gets my respect everytime. A really good show, but Kreator can do a lot better. |
