I listen to a lot of Japanese music but I never really got into Utada's stuff. A lotof the female solo singers weren't really that good in my opinion, but at least Utada is betetr than the likes of Nakashima Mika, Koad Kumi and Namie Amuro. I quite like the song Colors (damn American spelling) but other than that I found her to be a little dull. I wouldn't say I hate her, I just don't think she's all that good.
I LOVE her!!! I listen to her songs all the time. the theme song in KH got me hooked, I looked her up, and I got like a bunch of her songs, like a whole CD worth. It was SO great!
Yeah, I've got to say that she influenced the Japanese Pop culture for me and the music I listen to. Though I also listen too a few anime OST along with the KH 1 & 2 OSTs, so here and there I come across her.
I find her voice to be much better than most female J-Pop stars, she's got a nice easy-on-the-ears sound. I've only heard about 15 songs by her but I think she's pretty talented.
I have to admit I think Utada does have quite a good voice even though I'm not too bothered about her music. Though I think BoA is very average and I've never really understood her fame, the fact that her music is so heavily influenced by the west doesn't really adhere me to her.
o.o well I've loved Utada ever since I heard Automatic ^^ and my age is hardly high. But I love her newest song that's out Kiss and Cry It's in Japanese. But pretty Amazing. so is Flavor of life and the whole Ultra Blue album xD
