Default Cover songs

Often we pass off covers as just a crap copy of the orginal, but have you a cover you felt was better than the original?
i mean look at Hendrix's All along the watch tower.....orignaly by bob Dylan and just becasue he covered in a more prominant style than dylan did everyone thinks its his song.
i feel also that alot of the times die hard fans of cirtain bands will dissmiss covers, when actualy you have to view the cover as a whole new song...if done in a differnt style.
for instance, my Friend loves Metalica a band im not so into myself although i admit they are musicaly talented.
i got this new album by Rodrigo y Gabriela that has the song by Metalica called ''Orion'' on it. i was like wow, i though it was amazing and much better than the original.
my friend wouldnt give it a chance....sadly.
so what do you think?

Emperor's cover of Bathory's "A Fine Day to Die" arguably improves upon perfection.

I forget the name of the song itself. I think it's like "I love you." that was originally done by The Cure that 311 did a decent job with.

DECENT, yes. But not as good as the original.

My favorite cover of a different band's song would be THE ALFEE's cover of "Take It Easy" by The Eagles. I love the original song, but it's a great cover.

The song that Nirvana did called 'Heart Shaped box' was covered by Evanescence very well and i felt the sound as a whole was alot better when Amy sang it etc.

Interesting. The song Thoughtless by Korn was covered by Evy and they actually sounded so frikkin amazing at it. Many loved that version better than the original, so ya I know what you mean.

I think Manson's cover of Depeche Mode's Personal Jesus was better than the original. It sounded cooler.

I liked Johnny Cash's cover of that. Also his cover of Hurt was amazing.
