Battlelore - Elves of Luva
It took me awhile after much hype to actually get into Battlelore, but now I'm so thankful I kept giving them that extra chance. Elves of Luva really showcases the female voice of Kaisa, and it's a nice, soft-touching track. I really do enjoy this.

Darkthrone - The Cult Is Alive
This is how Black 'n Roll should sound. Disgusting and nasty and still more Blackmetal then most bands who consider themsleves Blackmetal. This album scored really high on my 2006 list. It ****ted over any other BM record from that year except maybe Rain Upon The Impure and The Whore Of Bethlehem. |

Darkthrone are a good band from the few songs of theirs I've heard.
Muse - Knights of Cydonia This is a brilliant track, imo. It's really got the feeling of war, etc, as shown in the music video. Which suprisingly is brilliant compared to some videos you see nowadays. Overall, it's just a brilliant song by another good band.

Watain - The Limb Crucifix
These guys make Dissection sounds like pussies in terms of evilness. Rabid Death's Curse is one of the best bm albums to come from Sweden. The drumming, the lyrics, everything just reeks of evil. The new album leaked, I need to get a hold of it. |

Drudkh - Eternal Sun
Pretty much all of Drudkh's discography is well worth checking out, but for some reason The Swan Road took me longest to get into. The more I listen to their music the more I want to check out traditional Ukrainian folk music. |

Yeah, I was amazed the first time I heard an Arch Enemy song. Apparently, depending on who you asked, they stole the show at Wacken last year, which makes me all the more pissed off I didn't get to go then (and probably won't get to go this year either, unless I manage to get insanely lucky)
Drudkh - Fate I think they reprise some of the themes from this song on one of the acoustic tracks on Songs of Grief and Solitude. Maybe "Tears of Gods"? Regardless, great track, possibly the best on the album (although I'm also partial to "Song of Sich Destruction," but it's so different from the rest of the album that you can't really compare it). |

Therion - The rise of Sodom and Gomorrah
Nowadays i consider Therion to be my absolute fav band. Especially their symphonic metal. I could listen to it for forever. This song is from one of the best albums, Vovin.

Wyrd - Misanthrope's Masterplan
Their best song imho, closely followed by Heathen. It's an eternal shame, even though I find the two Vargtimmen albums enjoyable, that Wyrd never could create the same wonderful atmospheres with the unique sound of Heathen and Huldrafolk. The combination of Folk, Nature sampling and Black Metal was brilliant. Such a shame they came up with Rota and The Ghost Album after Vargtimmen Pt. 2. |

Therion is great; so is Wyrd. Although I find it rather difficult to get into anything other than "Heathen."
Wolves in the Throne Room - Queen of the Borrowed Light One of the few modern bands who can realistically be compared to Drudkh and Weakling. In fact, it's not a stretch to say that their music is pretty much what you'd come up with if you crossed Weakling with Ulver's early black metal stuff. |

Artillery - Terrpr Squad Killer Thrash/Speed metal. Pretty technical stuff while it remains catchy. Pretty weird vocals though, but I love 'em. ![]() |
