I've still only given Huldrafolk a couple of listens; I'll have to remedy that soon. It just didn't seem as melodically effortless as Heathen was. I've downloaded the Vargtimmen albums as well, but haven't listened yet.
Wolves in the Throne Room - (A Shimmering Radiance) Diadem of 12 Stars This is one of those albums that takes quite a few listens before one can begin to digest it fully. I think I'm finally starting to comprehend it, although I kind of wish they had printed lyrics, but I guess like with Weakling, it just adds to the mystique. At any rate this is a killer epic, even pared down to 20 minutes; the demo was 25, which to be honest was probably slightly too long, although I liked the extended intro. I think the best improvement to the demo is the addition of female vocals; it felt like something was missing on the demo. |

Soulreaper, Artillery are indeed, to agree, a good band. I really got into their latest 'B.A.C.K' album, my favourite tracks being Cybermind and WWW. It's good to have people like you about.
Folkearth - Wolfsong In Mootlight I really enjoy everything about this song. The album 'A Nordic Poem' is the work of masterminds, very fluent and overall a fantastic piece. Wolfsong In Mootlight, upon my first hearing opened like an experimental Iron Maiden song, however, the folk metal elements soon came in and overall, it's a fantastic track. The vocals are rather faint, yet done so well. I'm so proud of these guys, because to make a track so well as this with such a fabulous flow; I feel they deserve my thumbs. 10/10.

Summoning - Kortirion Among the Trees Summoning is my favourite band. They’re my favourite band because they’re so predictable, yet so good. All their songs have an uber melodic keyboard melody and most have the same style drumming; the lyrics are almost always about Tolkien and the guitar riffs are always simple. Most of all, they normally build their songs the same way. There’s something majestic about this combination and they’re still able to make every song very unique. This is my favourite Ep. It's long by Ep standards and has the same greatness that Dol Guldur did. |

Warmen - The Evil That Warmen Do
This instrumental is extraordinary. It's just the showcasing of power metal at it's finest without some cheesy lyrics. I can't get over how stupidly fast the keyboard work is in this track on numerous occasions. http://youtube.com/watch?v=_M_KIOQLkbk There's a video to the track. It shows the keyboard work and the drum work quite often, two brilliant aspects about this instrumental.

Rebel Yell is pretty great
Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Mother****er = Redeemer i'm still torn between whether this or Blaise Bailey Finnegan III is their best song, but either way. GY!BE's music manages to stir emotions in me in a manner literally no other band can accomplish. |

Peter Gabriel - We Do What We're Told (Milgram's 37)
a commentary on the Milgram experiment, which is nearly as chilling and heartbreaking as the results of the experiment itself. Peter Gabriel's always been one of my favourite recording artists; while I don't usually find his solo work as effective as his work with Genesis, this song is an obvious exception. |

I get the feeling that there are a lot of people with great music taste here
![]() Summoning - Bauglir I bought Oath Bound a few months ago and gave it a couple of listenings, but i wasn't in the mood for that kind of music back then. Yesterday i gave it a new listen and found it just great. This is really true Tolkien Metal

Oath Bound is great. Took quite a few listens before it really clicked with me, but I'm quite thrilled with it and I'm going to have to give a more careful listen to their discography in the near future.
Drudkh - Sunwheel I think they'd have to qualify as my favourite band right now. I'm having a hard time deciding what their best album is; I'd previously declared it to be Blood in Our Wells, but now I'm gravitating towards this album, Autumn Aurora. Although all their albums are as close to perfect as you can get anyway, as far as I'm concerned, so whatever ![]() |

Manticora - 1934. King of the Absurd
This album, "8 Deadly Sins" is awesome. Manticora; an awesome band from the land of Denmark tell this album like a story, each track being of a different year in a man's life with in the intro and outro tracks being in the present. It's just brilliant. King of the Absurd is a fantastic track.

I Don't Believe In Love - Queensryche
I had a low expectation of this song before I downloaded it, but I decided to give it a chance, and good thing I did to. It's a pretty great song. Music video is a bit ****ed up though, like most, if not all 80's videos. |

Good call with Crimson, that's a classic album.
And that Queensr˙che song is valid but they've done better. The whole Mindcrime album is worth checking out, rly. Although the first one was quite a bit better than the second. Abigor - A Frozen Soul in a Wintershadow Austrian black metal band who, despite song titles, seem to record in German. Great stuff, br00tal with some tastefully applied female vocals (that aspect reminds me of Wolves in the Throne Room, although Abigor obviously predate Wolves by quite a long time). Definitely going to have to check out more of this group's work. |
