Make sure you don't just give a quick, spammy, one sentence reply to this thread, makesure you at least give a little bit fo detail on the song you're listening to.
Artist: Gazette
Song: D.L.N
I think this is one of the better songs of the album but it'd probably be seen as a pretty average track if it was on Disorder instead. It's very acoustic sounding and has a bit of a haunting quality about it, a nice song,smoething Gazette seem to be able to pull of very well but they seem to try this kind of thing out very rarely.
7/10

Electric Wizard - Mind Transferal
They're often called the heaviest band of all time, and while I'm not entirely sure I can agree with that assessment, they're definitely one of the heaviest doom metal bands in existence. This is a bonus track to their Dopethrone album, often regarded as their masterpiece; it's a lengthy jam totaling over ten minutes. And it's pretty damn hypnotic. It also has a fairly amusing hidden track tacked onto the end, making fun of religious wackos, which is always a plus.

Drop Dead Gorgeous | The Show Must Go On;
A very nice song, from a very good band. I love the lyrics, in one of the main parts. It's so nice, and very cleverly put together. Overall, one of my favorite songs. Only downfault is that they scream... a lot. 8.5/10

Beherit - The Oath Of Black Blood
Cult old school Black/Death Metal, some of the most disturbing vocals ever. ( combination of grunt and whisper) Raw, primitive with a real sinister 'Satanic' atmosphere.

Wolves in the Throne Room - Queen of the Borrowed Light
I don't know how I missed out hearing about this group until last week. Raw, primitive US black metal in the same vein as Weakling and nearly as good, with some tastefully applied female vocals and folk influence for good measure. I'm probably going to have to revise my best of 2006 list because of this album, although I doubt it beats out Drudkh's Blood in Our Wells for AotY.

Keane - Is It Any Wonder
a cracking song from one of the best albums of last year. I was worried that they wouldn't live up to my expectations. but in all honesty their second album is superior in every way to Hopes and Fears. the video for this is cracking too.

When the clouds grow dark, the air turns cold.
When I'm scared and cry like a child.
You're there at my side, like a knight of old,
To calm me and hold me a while.

Funeral Procession - Heavenlie Aeons Grimlie Torne Apart
Quality Blackmetal. It has everything good modern Blackmetal should have, it's raw, sometimes melodic but not too much, it has atmosphere, the songs are really memorable and the compositions are really good. Pretty addictive stuff.

Chiodos | There's No Penguins In Alaska;
Another great song, this song is by my favorite American band. Very odd choice of lyrics but neve-the-less it's an excellent song. The screaming is toned down in this aswell.

Edge of Sanity - Crimson
This track is an all-time classic in both the field of progressive metal and the field of death metal. It's a 40-minute continuous piece of music that tells the story of a world in which people have lost the ability to breed, and considering that it came out in 1996, it was pretty damn groundbreaking. Honestly, Dan Swanö's reputation rests more on this one track than on any other music he's ever done in his career.

Red Hot Chili Peppers
>>Love Rollercoaster
I wasn't a big fan of the original, the cover by RHCP's much better imo. This is a song I could listen to for hours, it's great. It may not be one of their better known songs, but I think it's one of their best.

Dethlok | Deaththeme;
Heh, this song is the theme song for Metalapocolypse (sp?). I just got it, since I love that show. It's hilarious. Anyways, the song is very short so I just added it to my playlist for the hell of it. It's nice though.

Metalocalypse ftw.
Moonsorrow - Tuleen ajettu maa
Those of you who frequent other forums with me have already probably heard me raving about this record but for those who haven't, Moonsorrow are a folk metal band who specialise in abnormally epic material, and their latest album Hävitetty (translation: Ravaged) is unusually epic even for them. It runs for over fifty-six minutes despite only containing three songs, two of which are combined into one track. While all of Moonsorrow's studio work is high quality, this album blows away all of its predecessors and indeed most of the rest of the albums released this decade. In fact, I think you'd have to go back to 2004 to find albums that resonate as strongly with me as this one does (although Drudkh's Blood in Our Wells, which I've already mentioned once in this thread, admittedly comes somewhat close)

Laura Veirs - Ether Sings
I like a lot of indie/folk and her music is very tranquil. I love the voice and the guitar compliments it nicely.
