X-2 better than X?????

True, but the rest of the game wasn't worth playing either. Like I said, the battles and leveling system was pretty dull. The story was fun and the dress sphere system was interesting, but neither were worth playing the game for.

I actually feel the opposite. I was more in favour of the battle system , but thought the story was rather dull. Dress sphere system was interesting, I'll say that much. Levelling up was rather dull as well. And the whole mission things were pretty lame. I say put Final Fantasy X-2's battle system with Final Fantasy X's storyline and you have a rather decent game.

I loved FFX-2, and I loved X, in my mind X-2 definitely did justice to the FF name, and was comparable to FFX.

But I still like FFX a little better, mainly because the story was much more epic, whereas FFX-2's was very light hearted.

I loved both battle systems equally, but I give the edge to FFX-2, mainly because of the garment grids, it was so nostalgic.

Well when I first played FFX it took me about a little longer than the average time just to finish it. Hence, the game gave me a little entertainment (not saying that FFX was my favorite of all the FFs), so when I was finshed playign the game I was able to say that I used my money wisely. On the other side when I finished playing FFX-2 I finished it in about two days, getting a 100% completion. I was very disappointed when I finnished the game even thought it was a releif to have Tidus away. As for the reason why they don't ever say his name is because,(if you didn't realize) you got to deside what Tidus' name was at the begining of FFX. So to eliminate confusion just in case you named Tidus, Bob they never sayed his name. And in conclution SE has acknowledged that problem and desided that the wouldn't ever let you again deside what you wanted to name the characters.

I didn't think FFx-2 was that bad, but i goota admit that it was a quick play and the storyline wasn't really there I guess, but rikku being one of my fav characters kinda made up for that for me. i liked Final Fantasy X more the story had a better meaning and the game was kinda more fun.

I personally love X, and hate X-2 with a passion. To me, Tidus and the Sphere Grid were 2 of the best things about X. Tidus is my favorite main character next to Zidane for the pure reason that while he has his whiny moments he doesn't just up and doubt himself like a lot of the other emo-ish main characters. I also like the fact that from the begging, Tidus is trying to change things. I like the whole theme, where someone like Tidus comes into society that's set in it's ways of doing things, and does things completely wrong, and Tidus questions and changes them. Typically, the main character will be in denial and the main character will be going against change. But it seems like in X that Tidus is the one who wants things to be better, Tidus is the one that wants to help everyone else. [spoiler]You also cannot deny that Tidus was a pretty good person and main character for going against his own hopes and desires to be with Yuna to sacrifice his feelings and save the world from Yu Yevon.[/spoiler]

I think that Yuna's character is one that allows herself to be manipulated, and I like the fact that Tidus helped her out of that. And pretty much if I had to say that X-2 had a plot element that I liked, I think it would be that Yuna had a change in character because of Tidus. I seem to be rambling so I'll get to the point; X-2 is in no way a better story or game than X.

There is no way in history that FFX-2 was better than X. Yeah, I loved the battle system in X-2 and the level up system and what-not, but the story line was ****. It was short, and seemed like a big mini-game. Period.

FFX's story line was really decent to me. I really enjoyed it. X-2 cannot in any way compare to that. Using only 3 chracters? How lame. No, I am not complaining about it being all girls...but...if they wanted to make it "sexy" they could've did a better job with it. lol.

IP search doesn't reveal a similarity of IP addresses, so I doubt it. RIKKU FFX-2 didn't seem smart enough to figure out proxy servers or even the existence of IP addresses, so unless he had a completely dynamic IP address it's likely that it's a different person.

I do wish X-2 would have been a prequel. The storyline possibility there would have been grand and getting to see it through the eyes of Jecht, Auron and Braska would have been awesome but ahwell. SE screwed the pooch on that.

i just tried to play the game from the begginning the other day and give X-2 another chance. but i couldnt go through it in the end. i quit after a few minutes. there's no way this game can compare to X, let alone be better than it.

I believe that "Charlie's Angels meets Final Fantasy" has been used since the game came out.

FFX-2 was utter stupidity. FFX was decent. Neither was great, so what's the point in arguing about it?

The point is that some people think that these games are more than decent, and seeing who likes the sequel more than the original. In FFX, you had a good storyline, a sphere grid style leveling system, and a good blitzball minigame. In FFX-2 it is supposed to be a mini game, doesn't mean it couldn't be better but it's not the worst. It adds an extra element with the Lenne Shuyin alsong with Tidus and Yuna, however that may have been a worse thing seeing how it didn't have to do with the first part, which also leads to the whole Paine, and the three faction leaders, I like Paine, I think she is the female version of Auron, consider her hard ass personality, her starting weapon being the sword, and her having the best ending battle lines. One thing lots of people complained about in FFX was the lack of being on a closed traveling path until close to the end where you can go anywhere, well in FFX-2 that feature is there the entire time, there may be a limit sometimes buts that is to move the weaker storyline being it has you get to choose what you want, adding or subtracting from the storyline. It ended the game. I like the prequel idea because many people overlook Braska entirely, everyone agrees about Auron being a badass, and Jecht is known for the jecht shot, and for being wierd. A prequel would give them a new light, considering Auron in the memories part wasn't all that of a badass, Jecht was a fool but with good heart, and Braska kept the two from killing each other and keeping them on his journey.

a prequel I think would seriously catch the attention of all Square players. I agree not many people think about what actually happened to Auron, only that he had a hard past. I'd like to learn more about how he was a warrior monk and all that, because they didn't really dive deep into that matter too much.
