I really do not see the merit in your complaints. It seems your complaining about the entire series as a whole. Final Fantasy VII and VIII were as futuristic as you get and they still used swords. Heck even Final Fantasy XIII has characters using a freakin sword. Hello it is called Final Fantasy for a reason. It isn't real and therefore logic doesn't always apply to the world or setting. Jeez it is just a game.

Not only did FFVII have swords, but it had shurikens, boomerangs, and spears to. FFVIII even had nunchakus and chainwhips. And chocobos are an element in ever Final Fantasy, if you don't remember. And airships are as well. Just because something seems fantastical but has futuristic-ish weaponry and technologies doesn't make it bad. It makes it a Final Fantasy game.

some FINAL FANTASY's reality makes sense...and XII doesnt do it for me...i get that its just a ''video game''...it just has so many flaws..i hate this game..the characters are horrible..i cant stomach playing it again

Well we all get your rant a while back that you dislike the game. But so far we haven't gotten an explanation to why. Like why were the characters horrible? Most people say this has been one of the better cast of members in a while. What exactly is a Final Fantasy reality? What flaws are in the game? Come on! This game can not possible have as much flaws as the fabled Final Fantasy VII. If you can't play through it then don't. Simple as that.

Um, cause the fortress was defended by an energy shield which blocked the arial bombardment so they had to send in ground troops to neutralize it? Just like the ewoks in return of the jedi. Cept these would of course be evil ewoks, but the simile is valid regardless...

Also, the reason they dont all use guns, if you read the beastiary you'll discover, that making amunition out of anything but onions is extreemly hazardous and requires hunting dangerous monsters.

I think I did typed why I dislike this game but I think it was in a different thread so I'll enlighten you anyway.
XII's characters have no charisma. The story revolves around ASHE yet you play the game through the eyes of VAAN. (I know X was like this but those characters were built enough to be loved)
There is no development in XII. Who is VAAN? Alright, I get that he is an orphan but what esle. I don't feel nothing for him. The scenes end fast and your left with just playing the game.
The intro with REKS is my favorite. He is the only character in this game that was developed.
And yes I did play through the game. Enjoy getting my ass kicked by MARK XII and I did walk around filling the BESTIARY DICTIONARY. Still, no originality. Its a spin-off and not a good one neither.

Pros:
-Can move around when battle
-Don't need to wait for turn

Cons:
-Must wait for tha stupid gauge to be full to attack!
-FFX don need liciece to use weponds but XII need to licence first to use

I just got Final Fantasy XII just after school and I love it so far. I love the new ability to move around both in battle and around the area. I'll add more when I play further on.

i havn't beaten it yet. but it's a great game.
the battle system is all different, but i'm starting to get used to it.
even though i still think the old battle system was waay better as i'm more of a classic ff player.

Having beaten the game now, (and almost there again) I have to say I did love FFXII, it's a great game all the way through. The amount of grinding you have to do just to get a bit of cash is a pain in the ass, but apart from that I loved every minute of it.

Im a big player of the FF series, but all i can say is that after completing this game, i felt empty. After playing for so long with a serious lack of plot and
character development i just felt disappointed. Usually when i finish a final fantasy game i feel asthough ive been on an epic journey, im tired, relieved,
saddened but contented, XII just doent have that FF feel to it.
Also i don't quite know why people say XII was difficult, once your over a certain level the end bosses are just boring, at least with other final fantasys
you get that certain epic feel no matter what level your at. The way i see it:

My opinion is that the game is realy great but I didn't liked the battle system.thus the graphic's of ffXII realy wonderful.character design is realy great,the soundtrack- I loved it.magics, skills - great.summons something like on ffX.but I hated that there aren't any old summons from other ff games like ifrit,bahamut,shiva.and I realy miss knights of round the summon from ffVII.

Nah this was not a prefect game. Far from it. You never got to "know" any of the characters and all you did in the game was basically to look for power....over and over again... The main "man" Vaan was a wimp and a nobody. The fighting system was good but it dosen't really feel like Final Fantasy when you run around like that. I'm not very happy with this game and i hope that in FFXIII they develop the characters/story more instead of the systems.

(Although the license system was not too bad)

I loved the game and it is my favorit out of the ones i have played those being 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 10-2, 12. I liked 7 and 9 a lot as well.

It's OK. The graphics are great but some of the voices tend to get a little anoying. The fighting system is pretty cool but after a while fighting just got really easy when the gambit system came together. The storyline never really got me hooked and the characters were kinda dull, but it was still a fun game to play. Oh, and some of the items are just straight up a waste of time to get.

same here(and I'm a guy)also I don't like Vaan for some reason and the gambit system kind of scares me(due to the fact that people say the game plays itself,I like to play the games I get)(and by the way I haven't played it)
