^ Many people exaggerate in a bid to glorify something they were very impressed with. To you, it may not seem that big a deal - which is why they try to put their experience in context for you through, say, speaking from mouth.
In some cases, they could do it just for the sake of glamorising a subject for more than it is worth (e.g for attention), but one could argue that they're just a damned liar.

So I got one;

When someone asks you, “Penny for your thoughts,” and you put your two cents in, what happens to the other penny?
