im catholic but not really. Religion just seriously makes no sense. How can Adam and Eve be the parents of all humanity...? We wouldn't have black people, asians, hispanics, white people, hindus, etc. And if Adam and Eve really were the parents of all peoples, that would mean ENDLESS incest, we would all be retarded and/or handicapped.
Besides, why would God create humans...he was feeling lonely? there was nothing on tv, so he got bored and made some Super Action figures? Religion sometimes feels as if a bunch of people grew really fond of this story and started living by it. As if in a 100 years people started worshipping Harry Potter, and going on Sundays to mass and saying things like "Blessed be Harry Potter, forever" And on your Bar Mitzvah or on your First Communion you got a wand. |

There is a book, that describes how relegion might just be made of something we think is special, like in the book there is a Nuclear war, and like 10 generations after it, the poeple worship stuff lfrom our time, like I think if you touch "Gregorys Shopping list" You get sent to hell.
I still respect everyones beliefs and believe we have learned some bad and good morals from relegion, But just sayin................. WackaWacka, nice coment about the endless retardism. Oh..... and also, where did Cain get his wife????? Did he to it with his mom????

I'm not religious at all. for me religion and money are the main ingredients of war therefore I do not participate.nothing against religion or peoples beliefs. I believe in god however (and I do appologise if I upset some christians just my views) I don't beleive that jesus is gods son, just that he was a man with an optimistic views on how our lives should be lived. also I beleive that jesus was not white due to the geography of where he was born.

I'm agnostic, which basically means I don't believe in God, nor do I not believe in God. It's kind of difficult to explain.

I really couldn't start to tell you what I am. All I can do is tell you what I believe. I believe that if there is a God person, it is likely a spirit, which oversees the moving around of souls through reincarnation or whatever. I'm a strong believer in reincarnation, because I feel very strongly that I have been here before, perhaps several times, and I find a complete death quite difficult to believe. I doubt very much that life completely stops, even if it is just moved on in some tangible way, such as through nature. Though I think it is more to do witht the human spirit, lifeforce, I don't think it can ever die. Maybe there will come a point when we stop being reincarnated, and maybe move to a place of rest, but only through learning from each life we experience, and achieving goals that move us towards inner peace.
Nature holds the most promise for me, it's the most beautiful, amazing aspect of our lives, and yet it is right in from of our faces. How many people, no matter what their religion, can doubt nature? It's magical, and it's one of the reasons we even exist. No matter where we came from, nature keeps us here. I get a lot of comfort from my own rituals, which would probably be classed as magicks. Though I keep them in an entirely natural context, and only for improving the things around me and keeping myself happy. They are really personal- I have a protection spell on my house, and I often do candle wishes to send good will into the ether. I find "religion" quite a headache, because it doesn't give much room to explore other ideas, because each religion is certain that theirs is the way, and nobody else is right. I'm pretty sure about my beliefs, but I find it dangerous to label them within any specific religion, because probably all the religions would find something wrong with it. I've often been labelled Wiccan, and I admit a lot of the stuff I believe and do is closest to that religion, but even then there are certain aspects of Wicca I can't identify with. I also take some of my beliefs from Veda and Taoism, but again I'm not exclusive to any of them. I keep my mind open, and do what feels natural to me. Also I don't think religion itself is to blame for war, it's just how deeply people are engrossed in their beliefs, and they can't fathom the idea of being wrong, so they try to remove any other ideas, calling them evil. It's been happening for so long now, maybe not on the scale it is in modern times, but burning witches was commonplace at one point, even though there really is no such thing as black magic.

I'm an Atheist. The reasons for why I think I have turned out to be an Atheist may offend religious people but I'll list them anyway. Just know that I'm not trying to offend anyone!
- Higher than average IQ - Good Education - My parents did not force anything upon me as a child. - No horrific experiences in my life that have made me cling to an irrational belief. My Atheism is something I am really passionate about. I am strongly opposed to the idea of religion for reasons that a great hero of mine, Richard Dawkins, points out. I firmly believe in science and that there is no God. |

I am a proud atheist as well, for the same reasons listed above. Additionally, I feel no reason to hold anymore fundamental assumptions about the world than necessary (a few are inevitable, obviously), and that religion and the belief in god do the opposite, resulting in very elaborate and rigid doctrines that in turn do not allow for alteration when reality shows us otherwise. This results in ignorance and contradiction, not to mention the grounds for inevitable conflict between two parties of different unyielding religions. So I discard that for a more realistic worldview. Yet I must point out to you, Cernus--if indeed you are still on these forums, the one potential flaw of absolute atheism.
As long as there are things in this world that science cannot explain, there remains the infinitely tiny possibility that a god or gods exist. And the last time any of us has checked, there are still plenty of things unexplainable. So while science has explained far more than religion ever could, and still holds the potential for discovering everything about the universe, what is yet to be discovered could potentially contradict what we have already assumed and force us to change our worldview yet again (such is the adaptivity of empiricism). So while I am quite sure there is no god, I will most likely never say that I am 100% sure that there is no god, for that would be folly.

I believe in Jesus, I've always believed and always will.
I've had my moments when I question everything and start to be unsure of my own believings, but in the end I always end up that there is nothing greater than God's love. I lived a childhood that none should ever experience, but everything just made me stronger. What it comes to "signs" that God gives, I've had those too and they have been really important to me. If I pray, I always get that calm feeling which tells me everything is just fine. That is enough for me to believe to his existence.
