Am I Addicted?

Yesterday my mom went into some store and left her cigarette and lighter in the car. So I lit it up and started smoking...I really don't know why the hell I did it, but my conscience beat my ass. My mom came back in the car and I told her I did in a joking way(to see how she handled it) and she nearly up and smacked me down the street but stopped when I said I was joking. She started smoking at the age of 10 and I actually feel I wanna smoke some again. Am I addicted and if I was to smoke again how long would it take.

Tobacco is an addictive substance. When you have it, your body craves more. The more of it you have, the more your crave it. So the stronger the ciagerettes and the more often you take them, the more you want them again.

I can't say I blame your mother for wanting to smack you for that.

You could be. some people say it only takes one cigaratte, but other people say it takes 1 to 2 years. I would say that you might be addicted since you have a felling to smoke again, and since your mom smokes, but idk

Depends which research study you read. Some results say it takes only one cigarette to become addicted to nicotine. Others say it's a slower process taking weeks and multiple cigarettes. Regardless, nicotine is a drug, and like many drugs it is habit-forming, so keep smoking, and you WILL get addicted eventually.

I favor the studies that make the claim that it's a rapid process, just from personal experience. It didn't take long for my best friend to get hooked in high school... and last I saw her, she still smoked, despite trying to quit multiple times (including both times she was pregnant, which is pretty major incentive to stop).

I cannot encorage you to smoke. To be honest, I can understand why your mother did what she done. Smoking may start as a joke at first, but you'll later become addictive, and it'll ruin your health - ask yourself if it's worth it. However, since your 13 mistakes happen, take action now and don't let it happen again - but it's your choice, I can't say anymore than that.

If you want your lunds to look like the street in front of your house with a newly paved sheet of tar on it you can do that. Just remember that you'll have all the people you love and who love you, all your friends, family, acquaintances, ect. all around you at your grave thinking why the hell did he do that. If you start getting adicted now you might get a chance to die by thrity, congradulations. I can't belive you would even think about startinggetting another smoke let alone get adicted to it. If you really feel like being dead and not having a shell for your soul by thirty, than let that be. Just remeber that you have been warned.
