WTF is it about age gaps?

So what if I fancy a guy who's eighteen, and plan to (hopefully) go out with him! I hate people like my parents who are all like, "No darling wait until you're older so they won't take advantage of you" and all that ****. I mean, if I like a guy who I know won't take advantage of me (he's a christian) then the age gap shouldn't matter cause I think if you both like each other it shouldn't matter.

AND WHAT ANNOYS ME MOST is that it's 'horrible and wrong' to have a 13 year old and 18 year old dating but it's perfectly fine when you're 30 and 35. How the fxck does that make any sense!? Grrrrrrr....

Hmm, well I don't know about the UK, but here in the States it's considered statutory rape to have sex with someone 3 or more years older than you if you're not 18 yet. It's just most people's opinion that young people aren't in truth mature yet and make decisions rashly.

Reguardless of what you think, a 13 year old and an 18 year old have nothing in common. You're still a child and an 18 year old has far more experince in life than you do.

if both parties conscent in the uk its ok... technically its rape if the girl is under 16 but if youre mature enough then go for it... i personally have no problems with age gaps!

my friend lauras parents are 13 years apart and they love each other and had 4 or 5 kids and imo it doesnt matter! i says do what you wants

Who said anything about rape? Of course not everyone gets raped. That doesn't mean that 18 year old boys aren't going to want to have sex. They're at their sexual peak and a majority of them with say anything to get into a naive girls pants. Her parents obviously know this, because they're not ****ing stupid.

I find it hard to believe that an 18 year old would enter in a relationship with a girl and never want to have sex with her. I never said that it was in her intention to sleep with him. Just because it's not her intention, doesn't mean it wont happen. Things change.

If an 18 year old guy wants to go out with a 13 year old girl, I'd seriously question his intentions. It just...isn't right, in any way whatsoever imo.

you may find it hard to believe, but there are people out there that arent paedos or rapists and who dont want sex 24/7 SOME people can be trusted. its jsut finding the right person is all.

I'm ok with any age gap, as long as the younger participant is over sixteen. At least then they should be clever enough to know what they're getting themselves into, and responsible engough to bear the brunt if it al goes sour.

As for the whole age gap thing, one it's because under normal circumstances, people want to be with others in their age group. And 5 years difference is usually two different groups. (my limit is anyone younger than me by two years. Older women are ok though.)

Also, I'm not sure but I think in the UK, 5 years difference might be statitory rape. I know 4 years for anyone under a certain age is the statitory limit here. Not too sure.

Plus when I hear girls say they want to meet older guys because they understand them, half the time, the older guy is a prick and the other half is "well duh. He's older, he's already gone through the crap your going through. Have patience." Plus at the age of 13, you're a little too young to be thinking about a relationship IMO.
